Default Custom cabinet progress for Sansei Oh My Goddess machine

Hey folks! I wanted to show some progress I have been making on a custom cabinet for my Oh My Goddess machine. After getting the machine last February, I did a bunch of research on the cabinet and this forum community has helped tremendously. It seemed like the thing to do, so I decided to take on my first ever woodworking project. I wanted to design it around the anime and main character, so I found a 3D modeling software online and modeled out some sketch ideas. I started this March 2024 with intention to make it a Spring project, but it just got put off from lack of motivation and the amount of work it would take to do. I got as far as buying wood. But the last month I have been working on it. Attached are some pictures detailing the first bit of the design, wood work, and some painting. More to come on the painting as it comes together in the coming weeks.

After a couple more weeks, the cabinet is finally finished! Painting everything was quite the feat, but it all came together quite nicely. I remembered I had an old poster of Belldandy (the main character from the Ah! My Goddess! anime), so I used that to get some color matching from Home Depot. Worked out well. The masking took plenty of time in of itself to add the tape, mark out the template, cut that out, pull off the tape, paint it, carefully pull that off, etc. Ugh. Had to do some quick improv once I realized I didn't have a good support structure for the top marquee piece. But I nailed it all together, added trim and decals, a behold! A pachinko cabinet! I just haven't put the machine in yet since I am still figuring out the optimal spot for it and where to get the right sized table for it to sit on. Wall mounting is not really an option for my space. But it will sit in the anime corner of my living room. Let me know what you think!

Very nice. Much nicer than my first cabinet (and nicer than my current cabinets too ). And if you ever decide to put in a ball lifter it won't take much to modify it. I assume you'll be placing it against a wall at least, since I'd be a little worried about it tipping over backwards otherwise since you didn't really add much depth to the back from my first glance.

Finding a proper table to put it on has been a bit tricky, so I am still trying to figure that part out. At least the right height, width, and depth that will be ideal for the spot I am looking to put it. I will be adding some means of anchoring the machine within the cabinet so it doesn't decide to tip forward. The weight is pretty well centered on the center board, but you're right. I do want to ensure it is stable on whatever platform I put in on, so there is still some brainstorming left to do. Total with the machine and cabinet, I estimate it weighs about 75 lbs. I'll post another pic once the machine is in its rightful spot.
