Default The SpinLuck of 70s Plastic Pachinkos?

This has got to be the Top of the line of 70s Plastic Pachinkos! It has sounds and lights! This is Astro Defender from Sears of all places.. It is obviously made by Epoch the manufacturer of most of my Plastic Pachinkos as it has the same style and case as the others with some mods to allow for the lights and sound system. When I received it the lights had gone out and upon opening it, I had discoverd that the board they were soldered to was bad and the lamps had come off. They are verysmall and I thought that they were LEDs but they are lamps! I had to find replacement lamps and come up with an entirely new way to get them to work. Finding similar size and colored lamps at Radio Shack and 6 hours of rigging later the machines lasers once again defend!!!!!!!
The sounds are very cool when you release the ball shooter it sounds like a laser and the faster you shoot the higher the pitch becomes. When you get a jackpot the sound becomes a small rapid fire of shots with the laser lights shooting. How cool is that? It is powered by 1 9v battery.
Im not sure if the lamps im using are as bright as the originals but they were the closest match that I could find. Their shapes are long and thin like candels and the tips must fit into hollow pegs on the face of the cell! There are 4 lights in all.
Notice how they have the spinners shaped as rockets, nice little touch.
The only draw back to the machine is that once again the playfield is paper and not the tin as was used on some earlier models. Im suprised that the balls havent tore it as they pass through its pockets.
This has got to be rare hope you like the pics. I took some quick vids that I will post later so that you can hear it and see the lights. Plastic Pachinkos of the 70s Rule!!!!!!!!!!!

That machine really appeals to me!!

I have even been looking on UK Fleabay for Vintage Toys, but it appears to be dominated by Bagatelle Games, and cheapy plastic handheld 70's pinball toys, which whilst interesting are not at all in the same league as your cool 70's toys!!

Thanks for posting the Video and I love the Pachitalk Ad at the end

Is your 70's collection for show or go? Just curious how they hold up.

I got them to play and so far after either repair or clean up they seem to hold up just fine. I am not rough with them and I think thats the key.
