Default Stumbled into my first Pachislo

Hi everyone, I am completely new to this scene. A work friend of mine had a family member pass away, and they were selling his things to settle the estate. My buddy told me that there was a slot machine available to buy along with 400+ tokens. He said I could have it for $50 if I wanted it. So I went over and picked up my new to me Yamasa Uruma machine.

It seems to work pretty well, and is in decent shape. My biggest problem so far is that roughly a quarter of the tokens you put into it either fall out on the inside, or fall into the return. I have cleaned the tokens once, and swabbed the ramp, and that improved it, but I may need to do it all again. I'm open to suggestions though. Here is what the coin slot on this machine looks like.

As near as I can tell, $50 was a decent price for one of these guys, so hopefully it will be worth it.

They appear to be of two different manufacturers, but they both pass through fine roughly 3/4 of the time. Maybe more now that I re-cleaned it. I don't mind when they fall into the refund sloth, but falling into the internal portion of the machine is a real pain... I'll probably clean it again, and all the tokens again, then I may fabricate something to keep the tokens from falling into the machine body.

something as easy as a piece of cradboard shaped and taped in place may solve that for now

From looking at your picture of the coin mechanism, your coin mechanism is missing a plastic piece that holds the coin on the track.

Hmm... Nuts. Guess cardboard will be in order for sure. Is there any place to source the plastic piece or the whole coin receiver?

a piece of firm clear plastic from packaging would do the trick also.

parts are hard to come by, unless someone has a parts machine.

    Welcome to Pachitalk!

I had a similar problem with one of my pachislos and was able to use hard plastic to temporarily fix the problem until a replacement was able to be found.

Thanks everyone. I cut some rigid cardboard for a temp fix. I'm up to 90% take rate I would say. Some are still dumping into the return slot I suspect from the extra friction of the cardboard. I'll replace that with some plastic soon. I really appreciate the guidance. It's a fun little machine for sure... Now for some volume controls.
