    Default Looking for Pachinko tools

For the longest time there was a seller on ebay offering customized needle nose pliers for bending brass pins, and a measuring tool (pachinko ball on a stick) to test pin alignment for ball clearance. Now that I want to buy a set he is no longer selling these on ebay.

Does anyone have the website or email address for this seller so that I can contact him direct?

    Any help would be appreciated.

They come and go. As each listed one sells, another is soon put up for auction.

Be aware that the pliers have teeth which mark up the brass nails. I filled the teeth down with my Dremel and it works fine.

The ball gauge is a pachinko ball with a stainless steel rod handle inserted into a hole drilled into it. I couldn't tell whether it's glued or soldered or what, but it's rock solid.

Both are simple tools you can make yourself if you have the equipment. I don't so it was worth the small cost.

    Thanks,

Lightbulb Re: Looking for Pachinko tools

I have found that the best thing for adjusting the nails is the tool pictured below (not the glasses but the tool alongside). I think I got it from Arby ...a long time ago... but, I have seen them come up occasionally on the bay. It allows you to bend the nail close to the playfield. It does not damage the nail in any way and it allows very precise and subtle changes to be made. It sure beats the small plastic wall anchor that I used to use.
Does anyone else use this tool?

DrDark, is that an genuine japanese pachinko tool that Arby imported? Those types of tools are usually only available on JYA and are pretty pricey.

Yup, I'm sure Arby had it imported.
It was $10~$20, cheap for what it does!

Imported tools from Arby might be expensive but they are worth every penny when it comes time to adjust or tweek the machines you love.

Although I have a full complement of tools at my disposal, I primarily use the same tool as yours DrDark. It is simple, quick and precise.

I gooped a ball on the end of a chopstick for a gauge. Needle nosed w tape has been good for small bends at the base of the nails.

How does that arby tool work?

Don't get me started on tools! These are the ones I could find easily. The briefcase is from Arby's, cleaned up real nice.

Take a philips screwdriver and cut off the tip. Then cut a goove lengthwise in the shaft, this is for the nail shaft to fit in. A small perpendicular groove at the upper end of the other groove (it's gettin groovy in here!) will allow clearance for the nail head.

I think I'll be manufacturing one of compirate's tools immediately - Thank you for that post. I saw the tool that is sold on ebay and I have about five sets of "Pittsburgh" super happy golden lucky cheep Harbor Freight tools. I will also be converting them to pachinko specific nail removal / tweaking tools.
