Default Okay, NOW my collection is complete

I found this beauty on Craigslist and picked it up last night. It's a Kyoraku pachinko machine. Near as I can tell from the random numbers on the back it's a 1981 model. Not sure of the exact name of the machine, but it is space themed. In the original photos on CL, it looked like it was jet themed. Closer inspection shows space ships. The middle even shows the space shuttle Columbia.

It came with a ball catcher basket and about 300 pachinko balls. It's a little dusty, but overall in great condition. The guy said it's been sitting in his garage for years and he never got around to fixing it. It wouldn't launch the pachinko balls and instead would drop them back down to the winning tray. Turns out this machine just needed more balls in the back hopper to trip a mechanical switch. This switch prevents a winner from missing payouts.

    Thanks for the compliments.

I haven't done anything with it except plug it in and play with it. It's in very good condition.

I thought my collecting pachinkos was done after the first one. The second one was pretty much a spontaneous decision. Now I want a pachislo machine.

After further investigation, I learned the twist style pachinko ball launchers didn't come out until the late 1980's. So my machine can't be an '81 model. Guess this particular machine is pretty much a mystery, or it could be my Google-fu is just weak today.

Actually electric shooter knobs were first introduced in 1972 I believe..So '81 might be right for this one

Fixed it today. One of the mechanical arms was jammed with a lever. Popped it loose and it now pays out balls.

On a side note, balls get stuck between the nails and the transparent Plexiglas window from time to time. I wonder if the Plexiglas window is aftermarket. It seems kind of thin. A thicker piece would be more secure.

as for your Plexi make sure it is in the back slot... sometimes plexi gets cut a bit to big then forced into the channel causing it to bow a bit...

i have also shimed with paper to hold it to the back untill i can get glass cut..

just a few ideas for ya
