    Default Grades of LCD's

The HI DEF hype in auctions confuses me.
How many grades of LCD resolution are there?
    Based on Auction hyperbole,
I'm under the impression that the following LCD grades exsist:
    1)High Def
    2)normal
    3)old
    4)3-D

    What is the truth?

Marketing hype, that's all that is.

Agreed, but there are grades of resolution.
I was hoping to find out what there is.

Since the Japanese are on the PAL standards, I would look there for some answers as to resolutions.

Check this site for LCD info:

    http://www.lilliput.cn/products1.htm

The screens they use in they're monitors are Pachinko screens. I know because I have one and sometimes when you turn in on or off the 'Jurrasic Park' logo comes up (burn in?). They have added they're own controllers and cases.

    Mine is the 619GL-70NP/C/T model

Are all games after mid-2004 in HD?

HD comes in two varieties 1080 horizontal lines of resolution interlaced or 780 horizontal lines of resolution progressive. The interlacing meaning it draws every other line then fills the missed lines with duplicate lines. 780 progressive draws one line at a time from top to bottom.

    HD is not a VGA screen that's 640 x 480 pixels.

I should've typed 'their' instead of 'they're'. Back to the 1st Grade!
