    Default Battle Counter

Just received a battle counter yesterday, that I purchased through Japamart about 2 weeks ago.
In case anyone is planning on buying one, here is a breakdown on cost. The buy it now price was $45.40 (3950) yen.
    Cost of unit $45.40
    Commission 8.00
    Shipping within Japan 9.77
    Bank Fee 2.00
    Transaction Fee 3.26
    Shipping & Handling 43.02
    Transaction Fee 2.15
    ________
    Total Cost $113.60

After I won the item, I asked Japamart to inform the seller that I was going to be using it for my Jaws (Big Bang) frame.
I'm not sure if the instructions they sent are for this unit, or maybe a generic set. I am actually going to try and hook it up to my Captain Robert machine, which just arrived on Thursday. I think I can hook it up with what they sent, but if anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it. I probably won't get to this project until next weekend.
Was wondering if after I have it hooked up correctly, can all of the excess wiring be clipped off close to the unit without causing any damage?

    Nice counter Looks brand new

Yes, you can remove the excess wires, they are for connecting one counter to the next, and to the parlor computer.

Also, it's 24 volt, so don't plug that into 110v

Looks to me like the first picture of instructions refers to the Big Bang. you will need the long white connector to install a BC on that frame, not the 3 2-pin connectors.

Would you be able to send me a scan of that page please?

    Hey Rubberratt

PM me your regular e-mail and I'll send you all 3 sheets.
I did have a note sent to the seller that I was going to use it for the big frame, so the instructions could be for that one.
I don't think it will be too difficult to set it up on my new Captain Robert. I'm guessing the connectors are color coded the same on both frames?

    Thanks Steve
It is in great shape. Some minor scratches that should come right out with some Novus.
I can see how someone could get in trouble with the power, since they have a plug on the wire. They do have it tagged for 24 V.
Looks like I have to cut the connectors, and splice the wires going to the frame, since the connectors on the frame are male. In the photo on one of the instruction sheets it looks like that is what was done. Looks like all 3 pairs are taped up?

    PM sent

Here is an EXCELLENT thread on the subject

Draft FAQ (for comments) - Battle Counter Output Terminals.

Splice the wires from the 24V side, if you wire it wrong, it makes an expensive noise I use wire nuts to make the connections.

Once the BC has 24 volts and powers up, you can stay out of trouble easily after reading the info in the above thread.

Lent me know if you need ANY help !!!

Hey DB, in the last photo, is this the long white connector needed to connect to the big bang frame?

I was wondering if they could be disconnected inside. I'll try and pop it open to what it looks like inside.

Since thats the case, I'll use this for Jaws and try and find another counter for the Captain Robert.

I ended up using this unit on my Jaws machine.
When I opened it up, it didn't look like the extra wires could be easily removed. I mounted it on a piece of 3/4" pine and attached it to my ball hopper on top of my cabinet with angle brackets. Wrapped up the birds nest of extra wires with a cable tie and left them in the space behind.
The connector they sent, snapped right into the connector on the machine. Seems to be working like it should. Get different light shows as the machine goes into different modes. Sometimes all 3 (red, blue, and green) flash, or sometimes just 2 lights. Keeps track of the spins between bonus rounds also, so I think its good. Will be interesting to see what other info it shows.
Went back to Japamart and found the same unit for the same buy it now price and bought it. Hopefully will be in near mint condition like this one.Told them to notify the seller that I will be using it for my Captain Robert (Toyotec frame). Even if they send it the same as this one, I don't think it will be too difficult to connect it.

Just received the battle counter that I bought through Japamart on 4/22. This one took only 8 days to get from the time I clicked the BIN price of 3950 yen. This one is also in near mint condition. I asked Japamart to send a note to the seller after I won the item. Asked to let them know I would be using it on my Captain Robert (Toyotec) frame. Below is a scan of the 1st page of the instructions. The photo in the bottom left is identical to my machine. The other 2 pages they sent, are the same as the ones I got with the last BC for the Big Bang frame.
Only problem is the photo shows using 4 connections, where I am only using 3. Maybe I can figure it out with DaveRob's BC info.
This seller even spliced on the female connectors I need to attatch them to the machine. If anyone is buying from YJA, this seller is good to deal with. His I.D. is "evolution 223".
Dennis, I sent you the scan of this instruction sheet. If anyone else wants a copy, PM me your e-mail address. I'll also send the other 3 sheets of instructions with it.

As far as I can identify the tiny pictures you do not need to connect anything in the yellow plug! Only in the red, orange and blue one.
