    Default Purchased Maruhon Pachinko Today

I purchased three vintage machines today, this one intrigues me because it is so different looking than my others. It has two unique looking attractions with "Combit" on them, but I haven't been able to find them on the web. It's made by Maruhon and I've seen the one SibSr just acquired, but I want to learn more about this one. Everything seems to be in working order. Does anybody know the theme or what I've got here?

Nice attractions. I can't tell you anything about them, but they reminded me of the machine in this video: https://youtu.be/wrPIjOFHe8c

Yes, this machine is exactly like the Maruhon I just posted about other than the playing field.
Same front trays and trim, same back mechanicals....but yours has the center and seesaw covers mine is missing.
I'm planning to copy another machines parts to make 3D versions to replace them.

I've got the front and back stripped down without breaking anything, time to clean and polish the pieces, playfield, nails etc. It appears someone removed 1 of the 2 bells to quiet the machine, looking around the internet now for a replacement, nothing so far. They appear to measure about 2 1/8" diameter by 3/4 inch deep if anybody has any leads, let me know.

I have used bicycle crank-style bells. They are almost the perfect size, depending on the model bell and the model pachinko.

The sound is quieter which may be a plus.

I did have an issue wherein the curved shape of the bell allowed balls to pile up in a crevice that would not have existed with the original bell, which was not in the machine when I bought it.

I got 2 different model bells from Walmart. They had their pros and cons....

Thank you for the suggestion, I hadn't thought of that, I'll check around and see what they have. I'd been searching for an old rotary telephone to see how they compared in size, also saw some clock bells, but they didn't look like they'd fit. Sent a inquiry to PachinkoBoy website, waiting for a response.

Default Re: Purchased Maruhon Pachinko Today - Finished Cleaning It Up Today

Just finished cleaning this one up today, I like the angles on the front ball trays, kind of unique I thought. Also like the "Combit" feature, played it for a bit this afternoon, very hard to trigger these to open, but pretty neat once you hit it.

Some observations: Doesn't have a lock on the front, no hinges to pivot the machine out of a frame in an arcade (just wing nuts to pull the whole thing out), no mechanism to stop you from playing when the jackpot reservoir is low, nor is there a light for it being empty, just a window to see if there are any balls left. Only 1 light in the center activated when you hit a jackpot, so I wired a 2nd one to illuminate just below the "no ball" window and converted it to LED & 9v battery.

Because of the lack of a lock, hinges, "out of balls", how would a machine like this work in an arcade?

possibly a less expensive modal, for the small town parlors that had fewer machines and could be monitored with ease.

That makes sense, seems like it may kind of be a smaller or less popular manufacturer with fewer features. While cleaning the back mechanicals, I compared it to a couple of model B types I have, it seems pretty simple and basic in comparison, but fun to play none the less.
