The first one is a TI99/4 not the later A model which is the second one pictured. They also changed the ad to read it's a 16bit machine and everything at that time and before was an 8bit machine to my knowledge.

The first ad is for a ti-99/4 which is one of the first home computers. That was followed up by the ti-99/4a (the second item) which had a 16 bit processor sitting on an 8 bit buss. The first is a collectors item while 2nd is far more common.

That's because the first was nothing more than a glorified dumb terminal and the second one was only slightly better. The Apple II, Commodore Vic 20 and C64 and the Atari were all more supported machines.

What good is a 16 bit processor on an 8 bit buss?
