I got this machine as a gift a few weeks ago and it seems to work well except it sounds an alarm and displays HE whenever it tries to payout. The hopper has coins in it and is not jammed.

Here is some additional information:
  • Pioneer "Super Nyx"
  • AsahiSieko CH-700c Hopper (8 pins)
  • I can manually turn the wheel in the hopper with some difficulty and it dispenses coins.
  • I notice that it is hard to turn the wheel with the motor attached. When I remove the motor the wheel is much easier to turn (i.e., I don't think the gearbox is an issue)
  • The motor has some burn smell to it. I can manually turn it.
  • I cleaned off the photo detector, but I don't know if it works
  • I check the voltage at the power leads and it is 24v
  • I think this machine has a coin dispense switch, but it doesn't seem to do anything
  • However, one time, I toggled the coin dispense switch and the hopper started dispensing coins. I couldn't get to stop though, even by toggling that switch. When this was happening:
    • I could see all kinds of sparks inside the motor and could smell it running
    • Eventually the 8 amp fuse blew
    • I have not been able to recreate this since

I am hoping that someone can help me get this machine working properly. Right now, I have to reset it anytime the credits goes beyond 50 or it is put in payout mode and it tries to payout.
