    Default Christmas in March?

Well, that's what it seemed to be. As look what I was greeted with when I arrived home.

But it not just any Christmas, no...

IT'S A CUTIE HONEY CHRISTMAS CHARLIE BROWN !!

    Cutie_Honey_Christmas.jpg

And this cutie is pretty clean. A little dust, but that seems to be about it. No gunk on the ball paths at all.

Here's cutie's back side. I am kind of puzzled as to what the little circuit board with two tiny dip switches is for (upper left of center, next to yellow strip).

And no, I did not forget about the Macross Fever cell. Pachinko Parlor smoke smell and all.

And here is its back side, where somebody has spliced a dongle of some sort.

    Macross_back.jpg

And just what is this dongle? Well, it has a bunch of optoisolators, a rectifier, a 7805 voltage regulator, and my eyes are not good enough, but I am going to guess a PIC of some sort. I am guessing that this is some sort of remote control of the cell, through a parallel port perhaps. Dunno, but when I do get my V-Trigger frame, it's going to be a project to get it installed and working correctly.

UPDATE: The dongle is labeled "Victory-Lite002".

And for those who are curious. Yes, I did take pictures during the unboxing. That took about an hour to accomplish. I really got my $40 worth in secure packing fees. I will post those pictures if someone really wants to see them.

As for right now, I am going to give Cutie Honey a quick wipe down and see how she plays. (I wish they included a key).

Although a standard key will work, Cutey Honey requires the longer key because of the way the door is around the lock.

I've no idea on the dip switches. But if you do a full reset. They appear on the screen telling you what position they are in (but not what they do)

That really is Christmas. Nice going. Other than some splicing the Macross cell seems to be intact.

Thanks guys. Yep, all my keys are the short type, so I guess I will need to find a long one.

Don't worry. That cracked plastic is on mine as well. I'll check what keys I have as I had a bunch sent in my last lot. But I think they might all be the normal ones. You can open it with a normal key but it's difficult as you have to remove the key just as if pops off the latches.

Hmm, I can't even get a normal key to turn. Very tight. Do you think the previous owner might have repinned the lock? Strange.

I think my honey needed de-pinning before it would take a key.
