Default Think these would work for Volume Control?

I was wondering if a B1M Audio Pot Alpha Potentiometer 10pcs B1M Single Audio Pot Alpha Potentiometer 1 Meg - eBay (item 380205372724 end time Apr-10-10 1122 PDT) would work for Volume control on the speakers? The look just like the Alpha Carbon Volume Controls on Slot-pachikos website.

    Thanks,

it really depends on the resistance of the pots.

ftk sells some nice ones that work well for pachinkos and pachislos, or do a search and see how people have used resistors from radio shack, or even L pads, if you want to be a purist.

the problem with some pots is that they aren't rated high enough for the current going to the speakers. you might as well buy from someone that's already done the experiments, if you don't already have some laying around to play with.

I use the simple potentiometers (mono) that available at Radio Shack. Out of the machine I solder on two leads and then using wire nuts, just snip a line from each speaker and wire it up. I use small velcro squares to fasten the unit inside the machine.

I haven't found a need to adjust the setting once in place.

I'm sure others have a more high-tec way of installing, and a search will bring you plenty of results.

1 meg is way to high for this app I forget what size work best for a pachi but with these you turn it a little and it will be from full volume to off with it very hard to get the amount of volume you want

1K pots are the range that you are looking for. To help prevent Burn-out set the Pachi to "it's" lowest factory Volume setting.

Am I correct in thinking the pot will burn out and not the patchi?

Oh I have made no decisions on volume control. I will see what the lowest setting sounds like first. I am just keeping my options open and seeing what others have used. I was looking at the ones on the auction site but was waiting for my account to be approved (was yesterday) so I could buy them if I needed them.
