Gatchaman Pachinko just arrived

Well after a good experience with my Eva 4 Pachislo I ordered up a Gatchaman - by Sammy (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン) better known in the US as Battle of the Planets or G-Force depending on which adaptation you saw. Initial thoughts - was not sure I would like the frame but once I saw it in action during a fever round I was sold - the lighting sequences would give even Stevie Wonder an epileptic fit. I also like how deep the frame extrudes out, it's pretty cool compared to the Lumina and OvalOne frames I have. I think a little TLC tomorrow on the playfield and some plastic polish and it'll look good as new. Played tonight for an hour and hit a few back-to-back fevers. Love that you get to hammer on the chance button to ttransform the God Phoenix during the Vs. battles with the Galactor mecha. Animatronics are pretty cool - the "G" splits in half to reveal what appears to be a phoenix and the large God Phoenix at the bottom rises up and tilts left and right while the LEDs in the engines create a cool spinning effect. Still much to figure out on this one and I will post more as I figure it out.

The one I got was attached with some "L" brackets to a full width base on which 4 volume controls were mounted as well as a nice heavy duty transformer - gotta love FBTC!

The music used during the fevers I have hit so far was Gatchaman no Uta done by Animetal.

Wow!!! May need to move that to the top of my wish list. G-Force was one of my favorites as a kid.

Yea, my collection is certainly influenced by every show I got up at 6am to watch as a kid - it's like a little slice of my childhood wrapped in a former Yakuza donation device.

The cartoon was called Battle Of The Planets when I was growing up in Fort Worth
remember rushing home after school to catch it,as well as building models of the ships
They were available at the comic book store,the instructions were printed in Japanese,so you had to follow the pictures in order to assemble them

It's a fun game isn't it!? and yes the lights ont heframe you pretty much have to wear shades to play lol!

btw does the Japanese lady yell at you everytime you power on the machine like mine does?

No... but to be honest whenever I get a new one I do a reset, fill the upper tray and do a full re-seating of all the plugs in back (2/3 of my Lumina frame issues back in the day were loose plug wires). One thing I did notice was the chance button seems to have a weak spring under one corner so it sits tilted slightly forward and when I need to rapidly hit it during one of the "charging" sequences it does bind up from time to time. I think it should be fairly easy to fix - just need the time to crack it open and fix it.

It's all good an not an error...the fact that it does the same on yours just confirms that its OK.

I had the exact same "error" and made a video and asked Kazuki about it.

He says the Lady is saying: "The power was turned on" repeatably.

Well I spent some time this weekend cleaning it - the lower door and tray area was so dirty inside that I disassembled the entire thing - not sure how so much grime gets into these things but I can't imagine the air in those parlors is good for your health. While cleaning it I decided to try and fix the shooter which seemed to jam up every once in a while. After removing the front cap I noticed some broken plastic and feared part of the mechanism was busted - turns out I just had proof of some cheaters using my machine The bits fell right out and after putting it all back the machine looks great and runs like a champ now!
