Default Token Acceptor for King Pulsar

How difficult to find a token acceptor?
    How expensive?

I hope you mean token acceptor. Rule no.1 of this board is conversion to gambling machines that take monies is strictly forbidden due to legal reasons.

Yes, Token is what I mean. I'm new to these machines and have no intention of changing them. The tokens are part of the appeal. I'd fix my post, but apparently this forum doesn't have an "edit" option. I came across a King Pulsar machine for a song, but the token acceptor is "fried", the owner tells me. I'm just trying to see if it's worth picking it up and trying to fix it.

Sometimes just replacing the photo sensors cures the problems.Check some electronic stores or web sites and see if you can find a sensor that can be matched .Finding a whole mech is difficult.

I don't have the machine in hand, right now I'm just trying to see if it's even viable. It's probably more trouble than it's worth.

Might be the bargain of the century or a large door stop. If its close and the price is right grab it. Some times it's worth it for the tokens alone. Then you have plenty for your next machine

Maybe the machine might need a full reset and the owner does'nt know how to reset the machine assuming the token accepter it broke. If the price is ok like drunkenclam stated tokens and other parts might pay out for it's cost

How about getting an Autostop and bypassing the coin/token mech altogether? That way you can add virtual tokens at the press of a button.
I don't know how much an Auto-Stop would cost for that or if it will work but it is an option.

Drunkenclam, The price is right but it's not close, about 1 1/2 hr drive each way.

Yose, The owner seemed to know how to do the reset, unsuccessfully. They said they'd had it to two people who offerer to order and replace the acceptor for about $140.

Steve, I don't know enough about these things to attempt an autostop.

I'll just write that machine off and keep my eyes open.

Excellent, it looks like I'm back in the game. I made a deal for the machine and should have it by this weekend.

Monkeyboy, I sent you a PM. Thanks.

Was able to get machine tonight. Did not see any burned wires, or burned stuff. Pulled out the acceptor. Took a couple of pics, let me know if you need any other pics.

Additional info. The yellow wires easily come out of the connector. Could that be part of the problem?

And a pic of the acceptor before I took it out.

Try cleaning and loosening the plate with the red sticker on it that lets the tokens either go past to the sensors or fall to the front tray. Try cleaning the sensors with glass cleaner then dry them off goodThat token accepter looks very dirty. After a good polishing it may work. The plastic shoot just slides down and off. These accepters are really quite simple. The electro magnet opens and closes the flap to let the tokens go by past the sensors.

Yes that can be a problem. A loose connection will surely cause an error. The connections have to be tight on all connections.Iwould do a complete cleaning on the entire mech, then try it out.

After you "Clean" everything up reinstall the Token Acceptor and reconnect the 2 plugs. Power the Pachi up and as long as an error is not setting you should hear the magnet click. If it does the Tokens should pass the two sensors and go into the hopper.

The plug with the two yellow wires is for the magnet which operates on 28 volts. The plug with the red wires is for the 2 Token sensors.

Let us know what you find and if there is an error setting at Any time and what the error is.

Double check all the male pins that these two connectors plug into and make sure none of them are bent, broken or damaged in any way.

Ok, I got everything as clean as a hound's tooth. Cleaned the sensors and used air to dry them. I fixed the yellow wires plug as best I could. They seem to be making contact as the magnet holds the track thingy tight. Put everything back together and I get an alarm and the error "E-O". The only way I can get the noise to stop is do a reset with the sensors unhooked. There is a blinking light at the token slot and tokens placed in the slot go into the hopper, but of course no credit as the sensors are not hooked up. Where should I go from here?

Did you do a full reset useing the small key on the power panel. The blinking light on the token slot is normal,it is just showing that tokens or credits need to be bet to play. Are you sure the sensor terminal is connected tight, and sensors are not loose or out of alignment. Not sure what the E0 Error is but probably has to do with the sensors.Maybe the sensors were hooked up backwards by someone, try reverseing them and see what happens.
