    Default Evangelion 4 Newbie questions

    Hi All

Just recently purchased my first machine.

Struggling a bit on how it should work .

When I first turn it on it dispenses around 100 balls.

However when it goes into jackpot mode it does not pay out or release any other balls.

It's a CR machine with resisters and diodes soldered on the serial port.

Is this the problem, would an emulation dongle fix the problem?

Any suggestions on why it does not appear to pay out?

    Arrgghh...

Now the machine will not stop paying out.. balls were stuck in the troughs earlier

only filled the machine fully with balls today.

It has been modified to cyclic, when I bought the machine only came with a few balls, which was enough to play but not enough for the payout hopper to work.

Is it possible it is just trying to payout previous wins? should the machine reset after turning on and off?

At the moment if I do turn it on and off the payout hopper continues to run.

It will keep paying out until it catches up on payouts.. So just keep filling it and it should stop eventually!!

If you know where the reset button is you can turn off the machine, hold the reset button while turning the machine on and keep holding it for a few seconds after you turn it on and I think that should clear the owed payouts..

hmmmm. Ok, now I'm not saying something is not quite right here. People are free to do what they like
You have a machine that is fully cyclic and you want it to payout. Thats a little unusual. As no balls fall out the back, your front tray will just keep getting fuller and fuller till you empty the front tray. For every start pocket hit you will get an extra 3 balls.
In my 2 cyclic machines I just run it on 50 balls each and have the data counter keep track of the pocket hits.

The machine does not have a counter. So when I got it , it was kind of pointless just watching the same 20 or so balls cycle through the machine without knowing if you'd "won" or not..

You are right, having the shooter tray fill up is a pain.

Any tips on what kind of counter to use? Again, I'm very new to these.

    2 choices.

either fit a counter. Best bet is get one direct from Japan,

    パチンコ実機 - 「データカウンター」の検索結果 - ヤフオク!

    or

Convert it back to normal use.
That means removing the plastic that was stuck in the back that diverts the balls from the bottom of the playing field back to the front tray. Then fill in the section thats been cut out so the balls come out the back of the machine.

Here' some info at the bottom of this thread on a Heiwa I converted back to normal use,
Heiwa Lupina Frame guide (identify, strip down and cyclic mods)

You can see the plastic that was cut out and I refilled back in again.

    Thanks for the help.

last dumb question for the night,

ade those counters "battle counters" I've seen others talk about on here?

Will they show the number of balls that would have been won , even with no balls in the top hopper ?

they show the number of start pocket hits between fevers, and number of past fevers to start pocket hits.

Here's a handy video (execpt for the lense cap floating around ) shows the basic functions of a data counter.
