There must be some nefarious thing to it or they wouldn't be hiding faces and changing voices. But to see so many machines I recognize being torn apart!

No prize contest, what machine do the reels that the guy is holding at the beginning of the second video belong to?

yes its pretty cloak and dagger...

    Lots of machines indeed..

from what i gather, they are discussing how the pachinkos are shipped to Hong kong for disposal and that the methods used to dispose of them arent so on the up and up.

If it wasn't for the laws the governed this necessary disposal we wouldn't have the machines we do.

Maybe it's something like they're selling the salvaged electronic parts so they can be put into new finished products that are sold as "100% new" to the unknowing public.

There was also an environmental angle.

I'd agree with that, It looks like a scam where people in Hong Kong are being paid (approx $10 per machine) to strip them down and recycle all of the component parts. But instead it is only the valuable parts (ie LCDs, reel motors) that are removed and then sold at a profit, and the rest is sent to mainland China.

In China a few more parts are removed and recycled, but it looks like the majority of it gets burned or dumped leading to environmental pollution.

I guess that after the authorities find out about this, that they could tighten up the regulations on disposal and recycling, and make it much harder to export machines.

I saw a special on ship scrap yards in China, they beach the ships and cut them apart right where they are.

trash, fuel and oils leaking into the water as they work

    it's devastating the whole area
