1 out of 30 or more tokens register and no Credit Mode

I inherited a Getter Mouse from my parents yesterday. They purchased it in a yard sale a few years ago and it used to work relatively well. When I got it, I'm encountering 2 problems:
1. I can't get it to accumulate credits, when in Credit mode. I hear the "brng" noise up to 3 coins, but no credits appear (I have it in Credit Mode, seems to work OK in the other mode, I can switch back & forth).

2.Only 1 out of 30 or 40 coins will register (sometimes even FEWER). I removed the coin mech several times and throughly cleaned it and wiped it with WD-40, but no improvement. If I open the door and hand feed a coin through, it sometimes registers, but sometimes the machine begins playing that"TUNE" (it grinds on you after about the 100th time!!). I either hit the reset or power it off to stop the "TUNE". I did notice the last time I removed it, that the mech was warm (elctro magnet??)

The machine used to work pretty reliably, so I'm assuming it may just be an adjustment issue (I hope!)

1 last item, is there a good site to buy replacement bulbs? (I have the sockets, so I'm assuming the bulbs just pop in them.)

sounds like it has been screwed with in the past to accept coins of the realm.
so you might need to reaine it or replace the token drop

could you please show some pictures of the coin mech back and front and ill walk you through adjusting the mech in private messages. since we don't talk about such things in the public forum because it could be mis construed as telling someone how to convert to coins .

I don't know if it accepts coins, I have a bin full of tokens and that's what I've been using.

After messing with it for an hour or so, I got the Credit Mode to work. I'm not exactly sure how I fixed it but it does work.

I removed the coin mech and got it to work by holding it on an angle so the coin didn't kick out. This seemed to work consistantly, so I tinkered with it some more and applied scotch tape over the kick-out (I know, REALLY HOKEY, but it worked and I intend it to only be temporary).

I'll take a picture of it and post back later.
It is working OK now.

btw, can anyone recommend a place to buy bulbs?

There have been many discussions about bulbs here at Pachitalk. If this thread doesn't give you any ideas, try the search button at the top...you will find other threads relating to bulbs.

In general, anyone that has replaced bulbs has subsequently found a difference in brightness between the old and new. If something like this will bother you, you may want to consider replacing all of the bulbs in a specific area. Good luck!

hold your tokens up to a quarter they should be about 1/16 bigger than a quarter if they are the same size then they wont work if they are bigger they should work but shouldnt be kicked out as you call it . but by putting the tape on it you proved it to need a token size adjustment not the sensors having problems good work .
