Default Still have an Atari 2600? Were releasing a new game for it!

I figured this could go in a half dozen different areas of the forum, yes were selling it but I more wanted to just tell people how excited I was about it so I just went inniminnimineymo and stuck it here, if a mod thinks it should be moved that's fine.

So after a year of development our podcast is releasing its own game based around a true story. Growing up as a kid playing Atari I never thought that in 2013 I would be part of a team making a game that I even got to be a character in. Yet just this week I mailed out the first production copies to my co-hosts and development team members. I have learned so much about the process of creating and manufacturing an Atari game it is ridiculous, it was so much more of a lesson than any interview with an classic era designer or any book could ever be. Here are a few links to how the project turned out, I feel like a proud poppa!

Details about the game; RGR: CGE Adventures

Cool, a friend of mine designed the FB1 and FB2 for Atari. The FB2 is really special because unlike most systems that use a Nintendo On A Chip (NOAC) like the FB1 did, the FB2 has the original Atari 2600 chipset replicated on a single chip. While the ROM could have been etched on the same die he placed it externally so that the circuit runs were external, and he labeled each one so that it is very easy to add a cartridge slot to it to play original 2600 carts.

I still have my 2600 around here somewhere.. Last time I hooked it up I used Master System controllers and it made games much easier to play!!

I will also say that I actually liked E.T...

I searched last night for my 2600 and couldn't find it. I called my Dad as it may be boxed up in his attic. He said my brother picked it up a few months ago. Called him and he sold it!!!

He said he didn't think I wanted it anymore and he needed the money.

I would have rather given him some money and kept my system and games.

Cool story! I started collecting the older systems a few years back, and have the 2600, and 7800 as well as a harmony multi cart,
Been a little strapped for cash recently so I ' ll have to go with the roms that you have available, instead of a physical cart, but I really look forward to trying out your game

That actually looks like a really cool game! Seems to have an Adventure feel/gameplay to it but updated to be inside Vegas.

I still have my original VCS 2600 and it's even hooked up and still played! Hmmm... :-)
