    Default pachinko encyclopedia

    Hey, all!

I have added a section to my website, "models", where I am breaking down information on manufacturers, and then breaking them down by model year. This will be an ongoing effort, and will obviously never be a complete compendium. I include all available information as well as some pictures for reference. Currently my only manufacturer is Nishijin, and I only have three models completed with two more in the works. I always figured it would be good to organize the info so that people had a resource for identifying their machines.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Looks good. I'm curious as to where you get research from.

Nice work, but I just posted one that may toss a wrench in to the works.

No monkey wrench. This was part of the conversion in 1975 when the Tokyo factory was transitioning from making the last of the "A" models that it had been producing to the first "B" models made there. It was rebranded as a Togin during the 1975 model year before being rebranded again in 1976 as the Nishijin Shiroi-Kamome producing a very limited run of machines typically based upon current events. The Togin (Tokyo Gin) badging was unique to that year.

Most of my information is common knowledge to collectors in Japan. I have a friend who worked at the Kyoto plant during his college years, and although we don't keep in touch that much anymore, he has imparted a great deal of information to me on occasion.

    Thanks for the information.

I only have two questions about it: 1) The background art doesn't seem of the Nishijin style of that time and 2) The only marking on it is a capital "E" by the front tray door release latch. There also was no decommission stamp and it doesn't look like one was ever put on the playing field. So I'm not sure if it ever made it to a parlor or not.

I was also wondering where you got the information?

Additionally, for the curious, the last "A" model, the 1976 model built in the Tokyo plant, was rebranded as the Nishijin Kan-Less, a nod to the fact that it was a recycler as opposed to a machine that was designed to have the balls removed on a regular basis for cleaning.
