E4 Error Code On Hacidai Shogun Machine

Hi, new to the forum so forgive me if I don't know the technical lingo.

Hello, I have a Hachidai Shogun 3 reel machine. The machine accepts the tokens however when the button is pushed for dispensing the winnings I get an E0004 message.

I have cleaned the hopper put of coins and it does spin freely. Any ideas would be appreciated.

E4 is a Ram error. Push the reset button.

The hopper is filled to the top. The reset button fixes the error temporarily. Once it is ready for the "payout" the E004 error appears again. Could the hopper gears just be shot?

Did you clean the hopper sensor and check the roller wheels and cam at the eject mech of the hopper . Sometimes they get dirty and gummed up. Clean the sensor with glass cleaner and dry it good,see if that helps,it acts like that's the problem.

How would I check the roller wheels and cam?

Most hoppers come apart,the top bucket part can be screwed on or it can twist off,after pushing in a spring pin.Taking off the top exposes the coin wheel and the sensor as well as the roller cam and roller wheels.Most hoppers mechs can adjust the rollers and tension.You can lube the rollers with silicone spray.Usually a good cleaning to the rollers and sensor is all they need.

I have taken the hopper apart and have cleaned the sensor and rollers. I have filled teh hopper back up and have tried the machine again. When the payout is due I have received the E004 error message again.

Any suggestions???

Does the machine payout on it's own when a winning combo is hit after the 50 credits is met,or just when the payout button is pressed?

Also is the wireing connection tight on the hopper to the power supply, no bent pins in the connector,and is the hopper motor good.The E4 code is usually a jam or hopper disconnect.

The payout occurs when the button is pushed.

The wires all seem tight. I am wondering however if the motor is shot. The E004 error code appeared during a long stint of playing.

You could test the motor it should be a 24 volt motor.Just jump off the transformer to the motor terminals and see if it spins.If it works it's not the motor.
