Default Importing pachislo and pachinko from Japan

Hi, all. A few questions about importing from Japan. How much is the shipping for one and do you pay duty take or anything else. I thought about buying a rockman pachislot. Any advice for a newbie like things to ask???Thanks for the advice.

you'll have to use a proxy bidder to bid on your behalf. it's not a difficult thing to do and there's plenty of threads on it. shipping is very expensive by air and will be several hundred dollars. shipping by boat takes forever and there's no tracking.

Thank you! I was wondering do you pay import tax. I read yes on some threads and no on others.

    No. I don’t/haven’t. I can’t speak to others. I use From Japan.

don't think i've ever paid an import tax but not sure. another thing to keep in mind is that any questions you have about an item must be asked by your proxy bidder which they may or may not do.
i've had good luck on my imports which are about a dozen or so arrange balls over the years. the one time i got burned was receiving a non working machine which was my fault for not doing my due diligence.

I have used From Japan many times over the past several years and never had to pay an import tax into the US. Of many machines purchased I had only bought one pachislo and the shipping was very high given the larger size and weight. Some shipping options like Fed-Ex Economy were put on hold due to Covid19 due to restrictions so you may want to check out your shipping options before making a purchase.

My problem is I can't locate Sonic Live in America. I will probably have to buy it in japan. I also thought about buying rockman pachislot. Do any of you know someone who owns Sonic Live. I think that might be the rarest pachislo. I only saw one last year on ebay.

I have not seen a Sonic machine for sale in a long time either. I helped a local member install volume controls on his Sonic pachinko a couple of years ago. It seemed to be his holy grail machine and a prized possession. Since he hasn't replied here, I will assume that he is not interested in selling.

Currently, FedEx is only shipping expedited shipments from Japan. The cost is about twice as much as FedEx economy. I would have to imagine that a pachislo would run $700+ to import right now. I have not imported a pachislo, but that is about what a modern pachinko is costing to import these days.

Thanks everyone for the help!! I have a lot of Sonic stuff in my gameroom. I did not know about the pachislot and pachinko machine until the pandemic. It sucks. Five years ago. I could have found each one several times.

I should also point out. That anything over 30kg has to go by courier service rather than the post office

Thanks for that info. I knew large items couldn't go by Japan Post, but I didn't know the max weight. Very helpful to know.
