    Default ruster launch handle options

i don't have an electroplater or any other kind of equipment. i'm thinking of painting it with enamel and forgoing the chrome, but it probably needs some prepatory treatment.
    any advice?

Yeah, you need to sand the flipper lever the clean it and get automotive thick primer to make the lever smooth then sand with 2000 grit body sand paper . Wipe it down for dust then spray paint .

But you possibly know all that but I like to cover all the bases .
When things don't go right the 1st time , Step back ,Take a break and come back renewed. RGS

I was thinking powder coating might be neat. Super strong for a part that's going to be getting a lot of hands on contact.

If it's really bad, I use the wire wheel on the bench grinder. You might be surprised how well it does.

After I use the wire wheel, I use steel wool, then Miracle Cloth. But, if that doesn't work I will paint it. I tape off the tip of the handle and leave it original. You can usually always get the tip of the handle looking good. Basically, this is really the only part that you are touching, anyway.

Here is picture of one I did the other day. Sorry, no before picture.
Also, a picture of the finger rest I did this morning.
