Default Help with my Nishijin Y&O Model

I bought this game from a local toy store owner. It turns on and plays, but never paid out if you got it in the winning hole. Now there is a jam. Any tips? I've turned the 2 power buttons on and off and unplugged it.

OK, I'll look, there is also another red/white wire hanging up and to the right of the one you circled.

The hanging piece you circled is plugged into a dead end plastic ring that doesn't seem to belong anywhere.

That “ring” is a ball counter sensor, it definitely goes “somewhere”; where I’m not sure exactly.
It’s likely a ball sensor that tells the machine when to pay out. Looks like somebody has been fooling around with it trying to fix it probably. I would drop a ball through that sensor while it’s on and see if the machine reacts…

I see some empty connectors on one board that normally should have some plugs/connectors inserted? I don’t have this exact model so hard to say how it’s supposed to look. Maybe ask the toy store you bought it from to give you a refund if can’t get it working. Definitely need to clear that huge ball jam for anything to work though. Good luck!

Going forward, it’s always in your best interest to test machines BEFORE you buy them if possible; because not all pachinko problems can be easily fixed, parts from 30 years ago are almost non-existent. And if they don’t work; the value plummets to maybe $20 as a parts machine. Modern pachinkos can be much more difficult to fix than a mostly mechanical vintage.

I would get rid of the mass ball jam first. Then remove the payout assembly and make sure nothings blocking it. Then work from there.

The ring is definitely a ball sensor. Either to trigger a payout or count payout balls.

Try to see what's stopping them from coming out the back.

When you say it plays. When you drop a ball in the middle start pocket. Do the video reels spin?

Yes, when I first bought it, there was not a jam and if you dropped a ball in the pocket, the reels would spin and music would come on and if there was a payout to be had, it never gave any. But now there is a jam and I think my son took the back off and messed with it.

On machines of this age. they had a habit of locking balls in behind the cel till the payout win was complete. So it doesn't have to remember payout electronically. As no payouts, it stored more and more balls
From experience of other machines of this age, (But not this one) look for a sensor near where the winning balls would come out of the frame. Also what you could do. is pass a ball through that hanging sensor and see what happens

The sensor works! My son must have moved it from its original spot (I found where it goes) I dropped several balls through and it kept chiming but no payouts. I'll look for a sensor.

Also worth removing the payout assembly and see if anything is clogging it up.

OK! I removed the computer components which let me back to the area where the blockage was. I messed around with the levers and cleared a blockage. Then I realized that above that was also blocked bc there were so many balls, 2 were stuck in the hole where it went from more balls to the individual tube. My son and I tried a few methods to get them unstuck and we got the whole jam to clear. He found the place to put the sensor back, which is NOT where I would have thought. He said he never took the sensor out so I'm wondering if it was out the whole time bc that is what talks to the payout. So, we turned it back on and it plays and pays out perfectly now! Thanks for all the help!! And, if anyone is in Cincinnati and wants to buy it, lmk! LOL
