if the loose wires are the pin type connectors just try to match the correct pin numbers up with the matchine connectors that usually work and wont hurt anything

the casinos use extra hookups, some machines still have these wires for them.

my golgo 13 had a harness plugged in with about 6 wires just hanging inside, they didn't go to anything in machine.

I will continue my post if i don´t get it to work and definitely will continue to post if i get it to work.

    The story was this:
I traded in a stack of arcade neo-geo games for a really nice coin-op fussball table and the neo games were worth so much there was money left over, ok, not sooo much since all i got then was this broken pachislo machine(with broken i mean: wires hanging loose, all locks & keys missing/broken, no transformer, no tokens!), i didn't even know what it was when i took it(neither did the seller, he said it accepts regular coins) until i started researching the web).

You see, i live in Finland, EUROPE and these kind of machines are not to be found here, so when i finally found one, i took it, whatever it was.

And now i would like to have one of those Pachinko machines with the balls...

I would contact one of the big two

    http://slotsdirect.com/pachinko.html

    http://www.slot-pachinko.com/2004PACHINKO.HTM

To see what the cost to ship a newer working machine to you.

There are others, but these are the big two

Many of these pachislos are similar on the inside.
If you could provide us with some pictures I am sure we can get you up and running in no time. You will find that alot of the members seem to thrive on this kind of challenge.
C'mon give us the pics (I wanna see them out of curiosity 8-) ).

Thank you all, you have been very kind and supportive, however these things take time here in Finland, i just ordered 1000 tokens though eBay and will get them in a week or 2, hopefully i will have the adapter connected by then(i just might get a 24V AC pinball adapter from the same guy that sold me this), i am going to have the "odds"-reset lock removed & replaced cuz i have no key to it, i will post pics when i get something done.

About the Pachinko machine, i checked and just the shipping would be like $450(UPS, usps do not ship that heavy packages) from the States so i will forget about that for now.

So the pinball Adapter didn´t work out...(too powerful)

Now when i will go out and find another one, how relevant is the ampere value?
I know it must be a AC 24V 50/60Hz adapter but what about the ampere?

I have seen these adapters ranging in at least 3-6amp... :-?

I doubt the machine will draw more than 3 amps but it's not going to hurt to have the 6 amp model and it most assuredly will handle whatever this machine can desire.

Ok... i was to the electronics store and i thought this was going to be an easy task but... :-(

I had all the info(or so i thougt..): AC 24V 50/60Hz 3-6amp but then the 2 clerks started arguing with each other that the adapter they had would not give enough power cuz i did not have the info on how much volt-amperes or watts it should give out... that knowledge of 3-6 amps didn´t do cuz when they multiplied it with something(24v?) it equaled to 200?(something..?) and was not enough?/too much? :-?

If anybody could look at their transformer/adapter and post here all the stuff it reads i could go to the store again tomorrow with more info and be a little bit wiser. :-)

Ok, here, i found it!

Here seems to be all? the vital info:
    http://www.stealthhomeamusement.com/24vto116ampt.html

There is that 114VA that they asked for in the electronics store, it would still be nice to know if this is the only number to go by or what, if anyone has any knowledge of this or there is some numbers one their transformers i will be more than glad to be informed.
(it is so hard to find parts in this country and shipping from the U.S. is crazy-expensive, they usually use fedex/ups)

Sorry... I missed this post before or would have chimed in sooner to help.

Power (Watts) = Voltage (Volts) X Current (Amps).
VA or volt-amperes is another way to rate power... most often used as a transformer rating.

    so...
    24V at 4A = 96VA (or 96 Watts)
    24V at 5A = 120VA
    24V at 6A = 144VA
    etc.

Remember this... the current (amps) is DRAWN from the source... equipment won't be forced into using it. In a transformer, it's the "capability" rating if you will... how much COULD be provided with it. So a 6A transformer will provide UP TO 6A without stress... not force 6A into the machine. It will happily provide less than 6. And it doesn't hurt to use an over-rated transformer... they will live longer!

Here's another little tidbit, for those who care...
(I teach this stuff... off today because of bad weather... and gotta get this out of my system somehow! )

Power between primary (input) and secondary (output) is unity.
That is... the VA rating is the same on both primary and secondary.
So... if equipment is drawing 5A of current at 24V (120VA) from the secondary (output), the input (primary) will draw 1A of current (assuming US voltage of 120V)
    (120VA / 120V = 1A)

    Hope this helps.
No worksheets today... but there might be a test by the end of the week.

May be you should draw me a picture, I can't see the front board from here, to large of class and the cost to.
