    Hi Brian W.

    Welcome to the Board..

you should be fine with an acrylic paint.

though if the scratches are really deep etc you may want to putty them a bit and sand it down for a smooth finish then paint over..

another solution is Contact paper it comes in a variety of colours and designs in case you wanted a different look to your Pachi boxes..

    all the best

    Sid

Most vender's use a flat latex black paint but this does not hold up to well. I paint all my machines over when I get them. I use a nice satin black acrylic latex. This puts a little shine to the cabinet but not to much that you see a lot of finger prints. The best way to paint it is with a little 3" foam roller. You can get them already in a plastic try with cover. If you have only one machine to paint then clean out the roller in some worm water. If you will use it again say in a week or two then leave some paint in the try and cover it with the plastic try top. It will keep like this for some time. I get just a quart of paint at a time. I am a painter and I have tried spry painting them but that is way to much masking off. A little note, Open the door some then you can get to both edges near the door better. If there are vent screens I paint over them but do not have a lot of paint in roller. You don't want to clog the holes. Happy painting!

    I prefer this:

    http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=260-010

It's a thick press on laminate that gives your cabinets a great speaker cabinet look and you can cut out the handles on the sides. It's easy to apply and good quality.

They come in various sizes both width and height...
I have covered a Mame Cabinet with this stuff it gives a very nice finish.. and it comes in a lot of Colors and designs (this is what i meant by the contact paper)
    i have bought a roll that is 90cm by 2.10 meters (35 inches x 82 inches)
you could do it in One roll. as there are smaller sizes too.

very easy to work with all you need is a clean surface and a exacto knife/box cutter etc

One tip on the laminate. Router the edges good! Especially the bottom. The Harley machine I got from Logic was originally from Grand View. There are chips at the bottom of the laminate because the bottom of the laminate catches on stuff. If they would have routed it off it would still be good. If you don't have a router you can use a rasp type file but go toward the glued side, not away from it. If you plan on keeping machines or it is a high end machine the laminate is nice.

This laminate is not the stuff that is made by Formica / Wilsonart
it is vinyl and can be cut with scissors. and for the fine detail running a razor blade along the corner.
very easy to work with it.. has an adhesive backing and it takes a few minutes to glue permenately so you can un stick to straighten it out etc..

This is what I have used in the past when I sold slots, depending on how you cut them you could get two to three machines per roll.
    Very nice feel

3 machines per roll is about right. It's good stuff, inexpensive and extremely easy to apply with a great look in the end.

No. The thin stuff Sid is talking about that is self sticking and can be trimmed with a knife.
