Default LED screen very light on Pink Panther machine, is this fixable?

I have a newer Pachinko machine, I think I have owned it 5 years now. It is the Pink Panther theme, manufactured by Fuji, large center screen with Pink Panther who moves his arm. I can post a pic, if necessary. It works great and I had it plugged in continuously for about 1 year. We moved the room around and we unplugged the machine. When we plugged it back in we realized that the LED screen has faded to where you can barely see it, it looks mostly white. It gets slightly darker during play after about 20 minutes, but is no where near as bright as it used to be. Is this fixable, or do we have to replace it? Everything else works perfectly.

    Please advise, thanks!!!

    Hello

I think there were 2 Pink Panther models manufactured by Fuji (Pink panther and Pink Panther II)

a 2004 one PachiTalk Research Center - Fuji - Pink Panther - PachiTalk

and a 2006 version PachiTalk Research Center - Fuji - Pink Panther II - PachiTalk

If this problem has only occurred since you moved the pachinko, I would double check all the connections, it is possible that something has come slightly loose or a cable has moved slightly?

I'm sure our more knowledgeable members will jump in with some troubleshooting advice for you, but in the meantime

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

To me that sounds like the symptoms of a missing backplane drive signal on a passive matrix LCD panel. With out this signal the display will either fade out to white or black. I wouldn't expect to see this on a pachinko LCD panel as I was under the impression that they were all active matrix LCDs, but I suppose it would be possible to get similar symptoms if some of the display drive signals were missing.

If all that sounds confusing, then the simple description of the fault is a bad connection on the LCD panel. Check the connectors first, then the flat ribbon type cables on the LCD panel itself. The connections can be intermittent and either start or stop working as the machine warms up.

Be careful if you're checking the connections inside the LCD screen's plastic box with the power on. These LCD panels use a small fluorescent tube as a backlight and usually have very high voltages to drive this tube which will give you a nasty shock if touched. If you don't know which bits are safe to touch, then don't touch anything inside the box with the power on.
