Here is a homemade Kahlua recipe.
This recipe will make approximately 3 to 4 fifths of Kahlua.

Ingredients needed -

5 cups of water
8 cups of sugar
1 fifth of vodka 80 proof...100 proof if you want it stronger
1/2 cup of instant coffee
3 tablespoons of vanilla extract
4 empty fifth bottles for finished product (dark bottles) or clear bottles, if you are going to store in a cupboard or dark place.

Preparation -

Boil 5 cups of water
Stir in 5 cups of sugar, return to a foamy boil and stir
Remove from heat and let cool for approx 1 to 1 1/2 hours

After mixture has cooled, stir in the remaining 3 cups of sugar, entire fifth of vodka, 1/2 cup of instant coffee and 3 tablespoons of vanilla.
Stir well until all is dissolved.
Use a small funnel to pour the mixture into the empty bottles
