Default Woody Woodpecker 2004 ball loan question and pics

Just picked up this Maruhon Woody Woodpecker 2004 machine this week. Physically in great shape and needs a good cleaning and some other issues as I walk through it. Doesnt look like its ever been open, tape seals are still intact.
It has a CR dongle on it but i can not get the ball loan button to work. Any thoughts on what can be done or if the dongle is only for the shooting handle to function?
On the back I have noticed a lonely green wire unattached (near pay or ball loan motor?)as well and am trying to figure out where this might go or its function. Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

You need a Daverob Dongle to replace the Dongle that you have to activate the Front Ball Credit Number display and the Ball loan buttons .

    Here is his site :

Thanks for that link. So the piece that I have in there now is only good enough to use the handle but not the ball loan button? That dongle should work on all CR models i take it?

And yes that Dongle that you got now will activate the ball thrower knob and hammer device to get the balls onto the play field and when you get a ball in the center pocket on the play field it will start the fun and sounds on the machine .

Thats great to know. I originally thought that the one I have and the Daverob was the same thing. So this definitely answers that one!

I forgot to ask, What are the dimensions of the glass for this machine. the plexi that it came with is miscut and short on the top..is it a full 16x16 or more like 15 7/8 inches or 15 3/4 inches?

Each machine is different. Also there should be 2 layers of glass. Some for safety use plexi on the outer slot and glass on the inner. so you get the ping ping sound of the ball on glass.

The glass question was really to Takethecastle because he said he had the same machine. However, i appreciate your reply. I tend to use a single thick piece of plexi on my machines usually but sometimes opt to do a glass inside plexi outside on them too. Just depends on how good the fit is

    For the Win Drunkenclam !

The glass in the slot close to the play field makes the steel balls click clack against it while it goes down the play field .

Plexiglass is good to go just make sure the plexiglass is flat and not bowed towards the play field for it will cause so many problems .

The modern pachinko machines have a Two glass pane assembly and it is a royal pain to fix if one or both get a crack in it

For the measurements get a good tape measure you know the metal one that has a spring so it rolls itself into the case .

Measure in the groove in the channel right and left and of course all the way up to the top of the rails but not too tall or the door will not close .

Make the plexiglass just slightly bigger right and left like about 1/4" so you can gently sand the sides so it will fit smoothly in your machine.

Remember, take your time doing it and please don't rush . Back in the late 1970's I was in a hurry getting it sized to play and lets just say it cost me One of the Two pieces of plexiglass to get it right .

Thanks again! The sides measurement i have gotten right but the darn height measurement has been a measure multiple times before getting it cut once. I have never had a top rail that folds over like this one. Its so close to be a hair under or hair over everytime i measure. Lol. Im fixing to go glass on the inner of it so I definitely want to get it right the first time.

Here's something you can try if it's too hard to get an acurate measurement.. Make a 2 piece template. Take 2 pieces of thin cardboard. Use one factory cardboard's STRAIGHT edge for the bottom and the other factory edge for the top piece. Use a T-square and square and cut the sides with a "Stanley" knife" or "Exacto" , the exact width you want but remember NOT too tight. The T-square will make sure the sides are a perfect 90 degrees to the bottom or top of the other piece. The 2 pieces of cardboard will need to at least a couple inches taller than half of your suspected overall height, (Example..you think it is 16" x 16" so your pieces need to be like 16" x 18" tall. Once you have these cut, slide in the bottom piece in the frame. Next slide in the top piece . Spread them apart so it's not too loose and not to tight up and down, to your liking. Tape them together with 2 or 3 pieces of strong tape. Mark along the overlapped edge for refrence in case you have to take them back out separetely. Take the cardboard out of the frame and then measure its size. This should give you an accurate fit..as long as it stays in the frame the way you like it. . Will you be able to put int he glass with the folded over top rail piece you mentioned ???

I forgot how that top bar goes on top and it was frustrating to me the first couple times I had to take the panels out .
