    Default Shooter knob loose

Yesterday I purchased an original Star Wars machine. I’m having an issue with the shooter knob. The white portion is loose and creates a gap between it and the part that rotates. If I push the white portion to close the gap the shooter works. If I don’t the shooter is so weak the ball never makes it to the playfield. It there a fix for this or do I need to find a new knob?

If you remove the while knob. (Screw on the underside) I believe there are 3 screws that hold the white section together. Also don't forget. Unless you are touching the grounding ring of the shooter. It will not work.

Also. Turning the shooter adjusted the spring tension on the shooter arm via some gears. On the hammer assembly. If its jumped a tooth. It will be weaker.

I was able to remove the handle and the white cap. The cap is held on by three screws. Unfortunately two of the three mounting points on the cap are busted. Is there a source for this cap or the handle assembly?

Not unless you can find someone with a parts machine, maybe a whole shooter might show up on yahoo auctions after a long time waiting?

I’d first try to repair what’s left of it; super glue those parts back together then put a thick layer of JB weld epoxy to reinforce the super glued pieces; might not be pretty but you’d never see the repair anyway. Can’t hurt to try to fix it!

Or maybe somebody can 3D print the part.

It's mostly a hollow handle. So you could glue the posts back in. Then build up the area with 2 part epoxy resin or similar.

I was able to secure the knob with all three screws by tapping the remaining portion of the posts and installing longer screws. I also reinforced the post with some plastic epoxy. It works great now thanks for the help.

Unfortunately my repair didn’t last. The knob is loose again. I will take it apart, but I believe at least one of the attachments is broken again. Does anyone know where I can get a new shooter handle/knob?
