    Default Yamasa Diver slot machine

    Hello all

Someone brought this slot to me, it is missing the main line fuse. Can someone LMK the fuse size, please.

    Thanks
    Todd

While I don't have that particular machine, I do have a Yamasa machine that while it's different in design (about a decade newer), may have a similar powered power supply inside it. I can take a look, but don't know where to look. If you can take a picture of where I can find the fuse and post it here, I can take a look just in case. Either way, pictures help .

Welcome to PachiTalk. Always good to see more people from Iowa here.

    Here is a pic.20240318_194301.jpg
The fuse goes into the online fuse holder on the ac cord.

Ah, that's quite a bit different. Mine does not have a fuse in the cord. That said, since it's on the 100V side, and that transformer doesn't look overly beefy (I can't find an exact match online for specs), a 1A slow fuse will likely be fine. 2A tops.

I'm more worried about where the 24V wires go to. Can't quite make it out but it almost looks like they're held somewhere with glue, and there's a trio of loose black wires in the back as well. Make sure there's no shorts anywhere there.

If nobody can tell you what fuse it should be, try a 1A to start.

Thanks for the reply. Everything was unhooked to test the transformer. It blows a 1 amp slo blo instantly, so I believe the transformer is bad.

Well, if there is nothing connected on the other side of the transformer to take any power, then powering up the transformer can blow the fuse as well depending on the capacity of the transformer. If you have a multimeter, check the resistance of the transformer at the 100V side, and at the 24V side. And check for any shorts between them.

For the fuse to handle the transformer unloaded, divide the power by resistance (100V/10ohm -> 10A fuse, for example, but I doubt it's a 1000W transformer). Since I can't find info on the transformer, I'd guess you'd be looking for something near 50 ohms or higher on the 100V side. The 1A was a conservative guess and under load should be fine for the machine (still mostly a guess).

If the resistance of the transformer is simply too low to be realistic, then I'd say the transformer is bad. If there's a short on the 24V side, it would also likely blow the fuse even if the transformer is fine.
