Can anyone tell me what make/model/year this machine is?

I only have a small photo here

Not sure if this is Vintage or Modern?

Hope someone can recognise it so I can get more info on it.

great thanks! knew this community would help me out.

I have an old 1978 machine and after watching the video of the newer machines makes me wonder why anyone would play a new machine as it appears as though its auto firing the balls? Seems like too much going on. Will have a think about getting this one as it appears more like a poker slot machine than a cool peice of japanese arcade parlour history.

It's also one of the early card reader machines. A dongle can be added so the buttons on the front will work.

A good way to think of pachinko is how it's played in Japan. Every ball costs you 4 yen (back in the day) so every one you played and lost was money out of your pocket. There is a small button usually on the lower left side of the knob (7-8 o'clock) that will stop the firing while your still holding the knob in a possible good firing position. After you've stocked four spins you can stop and let a few go before starting up again. Also firing away in between bonus rounds also wastes balls.
