    Default Steel Balls Replies

Steel Balls has been following everyone's muses and has a few thoughts to share:

A pachinko game is a wondrous device all colorful and bejeweled,

It captures the mind and controls your time with bouncing balls,

Flowing endlessly across a plastic world riddled with pins and lights.

Hope sprouts anew as each newly launched orb carves a path

Through gates and along ramps into the deep recesses of the machine,

Often lost and never to return, while others trigger celebrations of chaos

In sounds intense and payouts immense flooding trays with tiny rewards

Filling every nook and cranny with voluminous clatter and clink!

Oh, the joy of feverish wins can never be replicated with recycled balls

shooting tirelessly through castrated gates that once promised wealth,

Now delivering nothing leaving hearts wanting and the spirit betrayed .
Steel Balls is currently reading old books, really old books from Victorian times. This has been reflected in his writings and songs. Younger audiences have began to discover the purity of playing pachinko with all the bells and whistles intact.

They enjoy taking the time to discover the rewards of pachinko and shudder at the thought of removing the thrill of hundreds and thousands of balls pouring forth from the game they so skillfully played.

Cyclic usage sirens promise easier play but devotees of the game in its purest form are not willing to concede the thrill of countless balls falling into stacks of colorful trays.

Steel Balls is a hopeless romantic and would never advocate cyclic use machines.

    2. There are 2 red lights that have a "0" and a "+". Sometimes only one of the lights are on. Other times both are on but are flashing rapidly. What do these lights mean?
It seems that after a fever round there is a reasonably long period of time during which the flippers stay open longer and the delay between openings is reduced. I don't know if this is a set time period, or a certain number of balls shot, or a certain number of center pocket hits. But it does dramatically increase the number of hits to the center pocket. In fact you end up with virtually continuous spins of the reels during this time period, making it much more likely that you'll end up in another fever round.

The 0 light means you don't have any flipper openings coming. The 0 and + flashing (with no green lights) means you have one flipper opening coming. The 4 green lights each indicated an additional stored flipper opening. So if all 4 green lights are on you have 5 flipper openings coming.

Arby - I'm glad you decided to sell this one. I wouldn't have gone out looking for a pachinko, but having this one just fall into my lap at such a great price was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. The theme ends up fitting great with a pachislo collection - Fruit Machine being slang for a slot machine, and having reels in the center. Couldn't have found a better machine if I tried.

I be glad, I could be of service. It is a very fun machine, I miss it, give it a hug for me.

Gary, it's easy to get hooked on these machines. It's a different ride than the Pachislos, but one heckuva lot of fun! You may decide, like I did, to split the game room into two areas.

Oh, and gwarzin, please don't go cyclic! The ball lifters are very cool. Much of the fun of the machines is designing this sort of stuff and seeing it all work. It's a hobby, it's not supposed to just be easy. Remember, it isn't a JOB! It's supposed to be fun and entertaining. And, when you get done having fun, you go down and look at what you have and feel some pride in it.

I love what Bilko did with his ball management, for example! Fun stuff.

Okay with all this talk I just have to know something. How do you make a machine cyclic? Do not know if I will do it yet, but it may make my machine easier for my daughter to play.
    and a few others.

How do you make a machine cyclic?

    Look in Pachinko Mods forum.
