    Question nishijin c

hi, I have a nishijin c everything works fine except the jackpot payout. the ball goes down to the long arm but doesn't pull the arm all way down so the bell rings. I mean sometimes it does but most of the time it doesn't I've got enough balls in the hopper. I don't understand why. it should work

Ha, I have the same exact problem. My thoughts were the same as Moparformances. Clean and lube.

    Welcome to PachiTalk!

I think Mopar is right about the pivot points and definitely do not lubricate. I did run into a similar problem and it turned out to be that the machine was not sitting level although I really doubt that you are having the same problem.

No graphite, oils, or greases. Any time parts rub together some sort of lubricant is required, not so much for wear as there are no high speed moving parts on a Pachinko, but for ease of operation as you're dealing with a gravity feed system of levers, rods, pivot points, etc., so the less friction the better. A light application of a good spray silicone lubricant will leave a coating after drying that will give excellent lubrication and not attract dirt, dust or grime.

I don't think I could have said it any better. Normally you don't need lubrication. But if you do spray silicon is all you should use.

Ok, you guys got me confused. Spray silicon (a liquid that dries to a solid) is ok, but graphite (a solid) isn't?

It isn't really about the physical state of the substance but more or less the thickness and surface it forms. Spray silicon is very thin when applied and forms a film that is smoother than glass. Graphite is a little thicker and tends to have a little coarser surface. There for it could slowly work away at parts. Plus graphite is messy and over time white parts will turn black and it might not be reversible.

You could use graphite if you want but I'm saying there is better stuff and I'd rather use it to preserve the parts better.

How to put a little graphite on a pivot pin without making a mess: Scribble on the pin a bit with an ordinary #2 pencil.

It doesn't attack plastic like products from spray cans.

I am still of the mindset that less is better... as in NO lubricants at all. I have reconditioned nearly 75 Pachinko machines and have found that a good cleaning of the pivot points is all that is needed.
