Default Comet II restoration, disconnected rod?

    Hi,

I am slowly but surely breaking down my comet II and noticed a rod that seems to be disconnected that I am not sure how/if it should be reconnected when I out this all back together. I have attached pics. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. .

I am hoping if all goes well I can try removing the playfield from the front of the case by tomorrow night or the following morning depending on my time. If all goes well will order a new playfield graphic and hopefully be reassembling in a week.

I think I figured it out. Does it just push on that metal flange from behind? The rod was bent down but I think if straightened it just goes behind. Is that right?

    thx!

Your fix is correct. You can bend it slightly up; if that helps (to left of yellow plastic hole it goes through in your picture).

That is the main ball dump lever; it should move somewhat freely but is not super critical for your home use. In the parlor; the technician could insert a long push rod from the front of the machine. The spring resets it; just have to ensure those white pieces are above the metal slide.

Great thank you! I am getting close. I have the majority of the back cleared off. Hoping to be done this morning, I have calls for work and going to multi-task. I have been laying everything out on a table in the same pattern it goes on the machine and taking it one step at a time. If all goes well taking the playfield out I will order a new background this weekend. I saw a post about a few people with Sanyos having issues with destroying the front of the case when trying to separate the playfield from it. Have you done it with no issues?

    Thanks again,
    Mike
