Like Mopar, I have the mounting points, but no part. No earthly idea what it's for.

Edit - Now that I think about it, it may be a mounting bracket for a ball lift mechanism?

If not, then it's a frabistat. Keeps the relican rod from engaging the gazintas. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I just checked on all my Daiichi's and the mounting points are on every one but I have not seen a Daiichi with one installed. I would like to know what it is for?

My impression is that it looks like something should be hung on it. I like the idea that it could be a mount for a ball lifter. More like a support hanger for the vertical lift. Funny, when I was reassembling mine, I thought I lost a piece that went there. The holes had screw threads in them so something was mounted there at one point. I just figured it worked fine without that part. Thanks for solving the mystery of my missing part!

I have seen that part before. I have no clue exactly what it does. All I know is every Daiichi made from 69-77 had the mounting points for it.

I would say a ball lift brace is a good idea. Also my idea was it could possibly be a mounting point for a tube to refill the machine. (meaning really long bracket drops to there with tube in top hopper.)

Even though we may never know what it was for; one thing is for sure. It would probably make a good battery holder.
