Default How many people have satellite radio?

I'm sitting at the desk with the satellite radio playing song after song that I enjoy and thought, "hey, let's check the other people on Pachitalk, they're a high tech group." I personally ended up putting Sirius satellite in two cars and the house, as well. We all enjoy it very much!

No Satellite Radio Here. Tons of MP3s though. I am probably going to put together a MP3 Jukebox this summer. Mike : )

Yes I have a Delphi. It is a wonderful thing. I can unplug it from my home stereo and plug it into my car. When we go away, I have a boom box (Do they still call them that?) that I can plug it into. I also have a Dell MP3 player that I can do the same thing with.

Radio? Oh yeah, Marconi did something with this. I remember now, it died when Television was introduced.

XM Here. I have a Delphi Skyfi and could't live without it when I am travelling.

I probably wouldn't have it if I didn't travel by car so much. Plus XM just raised their prices to $12.95/mo starting in April.

My Father-in-law just bought XM though because he is a HUGE baseball fan and XM guarantees all games will be played.

When this round of Iraqi war started it was the best thing ever. I could switch and listen in on all sorts of views.

It's one of those things that you really don't need. It costs $12 or so monthly ($144 a year sounds much worse!) but, once you do have it, you don't want to give it up.

The $144 a year cost sounds bad until you figure it is less than the cost of a soft drink per day.

I thought about it, but I listen to my home made CD collections, that way I controll what I am listening to. I am not into any of the new music so there is little need to listen to the radio. If I listen to the radio it's usually Sports Talk Radio or News Radio.

Sirius actually gave me a free radio (but not a subscription) as a Christmas present at a CEA dinner. I still haven't gotten around to subscribing.

My problem is information overload. I don't really need yet another source of entertainment or news. In addition to all the usual sources (digital cable TV, FM, CDs, etc.) I've got:

ReplayTV (Panasonic's version of TIVO) recording tons of TV programs for me watch and I can't usually get through all of them in any given week.

I've got ReplayRadio on my computer recording my favorite radio shows so I can listen to them when I ride my bike.

During my morning commute (which is only 15 minutes) I listen to Bob & Tom. My evening commute is NPR All Things Considered. And most of my long trips are by plane - where I listen to my ReplayRadio files that I dumped to an MP3 player.

I just don't know how I'd actually listen to $12 worth of sat radio in month.

That said, if my job involved lots of car travel, I'd probably jump on it right away.

I've been trying to catch up all morning (and I was current when I went to bed last night). I've been at it for 2 hours and I'm still not done.

I used to listen to Stern in the morning. I had an hour and 15 minute commute, but now I am retired and I sleep in til 10 am or so, do something around the house, drive to my moms and pick my daughter up around 2pm, then we have play time until her mommy comes home around, 5 pm, then it's time to play with Pachi's. Doesn't leave me much time for radio. Maybe if Howard moved to midday?

If you subscribe to Sirius, you can listen 24/7 on any computer you logon to. I used to have satellite in several of my cars, too, but now have cut it down to only a single vehicle (the wife's Camry and main used trip car) as my daughter rarely used it and would rather listen to country music from the local stations and my personal main driving car doesn't get much use.

I had XM, a Delphi Skyfi thru last years Nascar season, Nascar has now moved to Sirius, so i let my subscription run out for XM.
Probably will pick up a Sirius soon as the Nascar season has started!!!!
Hurrah!!!! Huge Nascar fan, I usually make it to 2 races a year!
I still have the Delphi Skyfi for XM, in brand new, plastic still covers screen condition and all accessories......maybe i should put it on the auction site here??
