    Default Maison Ikkoku now arrived.

After the poll on this thread What to get?
And just under a 2 month wait, Its finally arrived, Didn't even bother those nice customs people either.

Dispite what it looks like, It was very well packaged. Being wrapped in foam, then multipy layers of bubble wrap followed by the cardboard outer wrapper, The main reason it didn't come in a box was due to the fact it weight in at 28KG.

I took the base I used to cutie honey with the tranformer from filming last week and mounted it to the machine, Then filled it up trying to find the ball dump and stop. It confused me because the payout motor is located at the end of the payout tank, before the windy ball path not after it like on all my other machines, Swapped the dongle it came with for a daverob one, Fired up the power and a nice lady shouts at me in japanese the the memory is cleared. After 30 sconds she goes away and its ready for action. I watched to see the attrached video, It features a nice bit of text that says "For Sale in Japan only" Opps

Also on the back are 4 pots for additional volume control as this frame has 4 speakers,

Couldn't do to much as I'm off work sick, So spent most of the day in bed. I'll try to get some more pics when feeling better.
The reels feature charactors from the anime and manga, which if you don't know it, its quite good
played for about 15 minutes just checking every thing seems to work, then went back to bed.

I've got a Lupin 3 cel coming over from Japan which fits this, and also eyeing up a 南国育ち when I see one.

TLooks good. So you can ship a whole machine via boat to the UK? It can only go EMS to the US. Do you mind if I ask how much the shipping was?

    Get well soon.

This is the third complete machine I've had shipped, The next one (super sea story) is coming in two boxes, frame and cel. Total cost was 38000en, Maxiumum weight by boat is 30kg, That has a shipping cost of 13750en to the UK. 2000 balls cost 7450en

Japanese post office website does give a price to the US for 30kg weight, At the same price as the UK

I think the issue with shipping machines by sea to the US is not the weight but the size.

That's a really great looking pachinko, love the heart details - perfect for Valentines Day, nice pressie for your wife

Sorry you're not well, but I think a lengthy course of Pachinko Playing would help with recovery

    Congrats on your new addition!!

I have seen many youtubes of this pachi! I love it when the heart pieces go together!
This is my FAVORITE Rumiko Takahashi story because it is COMPLETE!
It has a very touching and moving story as well as having all the comic elements Rumiko Takahashi is known for!
Its a great looking machine! I am sue it will get played for a VERY long time!
    Congrats on it!

Ok, Now I've had some time to play and study here we go, A quick guide to the back of the machine

The ball dump is activated by pressing the black square next to the hopper, This then slides the whole payout motor sideways, The give away is that it reveals a yellow square,
The ball stopper is the white nylon lever in the middle, Pretty simple as it just pushes down and the clips keep it in place.
Next to that on the right is the release for the payout motor drive, Lifty it up, then turn the payout motor anti-clockwise to remove it, There is also a little wheel on the end of the shaft you can turn to help remove any stuck balls in there.

Further down is 2 switches, The one on the right is the common volume switch, of Loud, Deafening and ear bleeding. the switch on the left is labelled 演出 (Show) With 3 settings, This seems to change what screen the machine starts in, From outside view of maison Ikkoku, Godai studying in his room and At the tennis count, But during the game the screen cycles through different locations. More time and playing in each mode will show if there is any real difference or do you only get certain locations depending on the switch setting.

Apart from the really bright hearts that fold up and form a cherry blossom petal during certain parts of the game, and the animatronic heart that covers areas of the screen there are some cute details of kyoko on the jackpot door and under the hearts on this version of the cel It likes the use of the push button, Which brings up charactors speech hinting of a reach in the next spin,

Some further screen shots, Godai in a daydream about Kyoko, It wouldn't be maison Ikkoku without the drunken apartment residents "kanpai" everyone. A lovers battle mini round between Yagami and Kyoko. Yagami causing trouble at school Actually she is putting a Reach heart on his back, See previous post. Hard up Godai working at the Bunny caberat club.
Good fun so far, I like the little piyo piyo chick sthat mark the banked spins, I need to get the speaker volumes sorted as the different pots per speaker are messing with the sound and its too bass heavy.

Ordered using Juno at bidsevice from rakuten auction site, came with 2000 balls
Custom Pachinko now list it at $475. I'm not sure if Frank will ship to the UK and what the prices would be,
It cost me £312 or $491 to buy and ship. But you don't get an warranty or shipping insurance, So there is some risk involved.
But as we don't have any importers in the UK at the moment, We don't get a lot of choice,

2009 Super Sea story should be here next month

So much for a little play today.
Got 6 ootari in a row taking me up to the end of episode 5. I'm glad to say that it has different music for the red or blue ootari, I don't know yet if more than the 2 songs, But I'm most pleased its not the the same music they use during the episode reachs as that isn't the best song I'd never seen on YT any of the ootari video or music so was very happy,

Also to report that during high probability mode you can bank up to 8 spins not 4, You get 4 for the start pocket and 4 more for the tulip pocket underneath. Due to the chances of getting multply balls in quickly during normal play, I doubt you can do it then.
I don't know if this is a feature with newer machines or not Anyone else noticed this?

The 8 spins that you talk about during high probability mode is also on the StarWars Vader, and Eva 6 machines that I have. Each set of 4 has a different color, such as green, and blue.
