Default I think my Heiwa is missing a cable

My Heiwa doesn't work properly. It turns on and goes into payoff mode when the balls fall into the start slots. The problems are that it does not award the player any any balls when it should. Also the shooter doesn't shoot the balls as well. I have had this machine for over 10 years. It worked fine when I first got it. Somehow I think a cable got knocked off and is lost now. The machine is from the early nineties. The location of the missing cable is the upper right (viewed from the rear) at the power supply. There are two connections that have nothing plugged into them. From what I can remember, I think there should be a cable connecting them together.
From what I can read on the machine, the face has, DANGAN SP. It's got a B-1f Control System.
If I am correct about the missing, I guess I'm gonna need one.
    I'll post pics later.

    Thanks,
    Mike

In the last picture, I believe that there should be a cable that connects the two vacant connectors together.

    Welcome to Pachitalk

can you give more details about when and how it does payoff..

im guessing that the missing cable is not important.. probably where a battle counter would be hooked up

    Thannks for the speedy reply!

This machine does not payoff at all. I have to put the balls manually in the start slots to get it into fever mode. I used to get payoffs all the time and now it never does. On the video screen, when the balls fall into the start slots, the screen turns into a slot machine style display. When you get "three in a row" it really pays off. My machine will not payoff. Also as stated in my original post, the shooter does not work as well.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Balls are installed, no change. Here are more pics of the rear. I hope they help.

exactly what do you mean by 'pays off'? do you mean 'pay out', as in no matter what pocket you put balls in nothing comes out the front, or 'pay off' as in not getting a bonus?

Those two connectors at the top are frame and battle counter connectors, The frame connector reports balls won/loaned and errors such as the front door is open. The battle counter connector tells when it goes into a bonus and other things. Both are parlor connectors and not needed for home play.

    compirate,
Yeah, I guess I should have said "pay out". I'm really not sure of the proper terms here, sorry.

are the balls reaching all the way to the payout motor? Sometimes a little piece of something might get stuck in there.
When you put a ball in a pocket in the front, does it eventually drop out the back?

Those 2 yellow knobs on the shooter control box (the blue B1F one) control the sensitivity of the touch ring and how hard the shooter shoots

The balls are in fact reaching the payout motor.
I have adjusted both pots on the control box in several positions with no positive results.
Remember, this machine used to work, it just sat in my basement for several years. I just recently decided to "play" with it again.

I am also having almost this exact same problem on my Heiwa frame, Omizu No Hanamichi. My shooter works fine but no matter what happens, no payouts at all. Yes, my payout hopper is loaded and it isn't blocked because I can dump the payout mechanism with the releases and it feeds into the back hopper just fine. Sorry if my terminology isn't right I just got my first machine less than a week ago and am slowly learning its ins and outs.

No but it's also a Heiwa frame. I fixed my problem today by disassembling and reassembling the payout feeder a couple times until I understood the mechanism. Pays out like a champ now. Didn't mean to thread hijack.

    Hi there

thank you for posting how you solved your own problem with this frame

I think your post is very valuable to this thread issue and certainly not a hijack

I'd love a cookie, thanks. Positive reinforcement is always so effective. I think I'll enjoy it while trying to get a fever and hopefully getting to test out the jackpot feeder, which seems separate from the small-amount feeder. Maybe I'll also figure out where the payout control is. To provide a bit more detail about how I got the feeder working, I thought it was a problem with the spinner since I noticed like three balls had been sitting in there through several load/dump cycles. I took it apart and put it back together a couple times before I got it through my head that the arm located above it was diverting all balls across into what I see as the small payout channel. I figured out the right position to snap it into and it seems to work but, like I said, so far I haven't had a fever and a big payout although some of my friends that were spelling me said they got a payout of a couple dozen balls. Not sure exactly what would cause that outside of a fever but part of what I love about import games is figuring out the rules.

Also, when I first got the machine it would not fire either. The hardest part of getting that fixed was figuring out how to get to that mechanism. Releasing the glass was the hard part. I have pretty strong fingers but I still had to use a metal tool to press UP on the glass release mechanism that's behind the DOWN moving chassis release mechanism, which had what I have discovered to be characteristic yellow paint highlighting it. After I got the front glass open, there was just a tab to press down to let the shooter swing open. In there, I found a twisted up paper clip that someone probably used to try to reach in and unstick the gummy easter egg that was the real culprit. After that, I played it for a while without really noticing that I had no payouts even though I hit a fever that time. Quite a number of blue shag carpet fibers were carried out with the balls so who knows how much of that may still be in there.

See, the machine came to me through some interesting channels. My friend's neighbor's mother had died and she imported this machine to play while she was unsuccessfully fighting her cancer. They tried to sell it to me for more than I wanted to pay, especially considering that it wasn't working 100%. They ended up moving and just giving it to my friend who let it sit around for a while and finally this week sold it to me for a reasonable price with the promise that I would give it a good home. I'm hoping to actually get it worthy of gambling since skilled gaming is legal in Ohio. Currently trying to get the odds turned as generous as possible both for testing purposes and to give the machine a good rep in the beginning.

Well, I'll try taking my machine apart one more time, even go a little deeper to find something. Wish me luck.

Well, I took her apart again. Reseated all connectors, cycled as many switches as possible and still no change. I put some voltage to the shooter solenoid and it operated. It seems that the control box is not sending the signal to the solenoid. The voltage to the control box is 24 volts. Maybe the control box is bad? Does anyone know what should be displayed on the LED in the control box during normal use? Mine shows nothing. Its a window to the right of the reset switch on the control box. Are there any specific interlocks that must be met to allow the machine to shoot balls? Does anyone have a spare Control Box that I could borrow? It's a B-1f control box for a 1993 Heiwa. Thanks,Mike
