    Default Is thisreally worth 1200??

Slot and Pachinko Machines MUST SELL

So i replied to this ad just to let him know that it was highly unlikely his machine is worth this much and that he'd have a better chance of selling it with a reasonable price. i then mentioned if he thinks its really worth that then put it on ebay. a bigger audience and someone willing to pay that amount isn't going to balk at shipping fees. who knows, could even be a member here.
so i figured i'd ask all you experts to see what the consensus is.

    Negative
The slot is worth, like all basic slots, maybe $50-75
The pachinko maybe the same, it depends how bad someone wants it.
    $400 and $1200?

thanks for all the replies. pretty much what i figured.
reminds me of a guy who very recently had a "rare" framed backglass from a Bally Capt. Fantastic pinball for sale. His Buy it Now Price? $5,000.
Bally made 16,500 of these pinballs. needeless to say it didn't sell and the auction made the rounds as fodder on the pinball forums.

he is a jack donkey, even if the price was not so stupid the attitude is enough for me to tell him to shove the pachinko someplace not very nice

LOL The funny thing is if you are in Fountain Hills & falling on hard times then you need to move. Its like falling on hard times living in Beverly hills. I should stop by & see where he gets his info.

Stopped & looked at the machines. they are dirty, missing a lock on the pachislo, the pachinko is faded & filthy. he had a yard sale last week they didn't sell so I set him straight on the value & he was a bit shocked & I educated him so I made him an offer ( I was generous) & left it at that. maybe after stewing in it for a while he may call me.

Or maybe he thought you were lying to bring down the price and get them for a bargain price maybe for only $500

nah he lowered the price to 250 on the pachislo & 400 on the pachinko. I told him flat out that his machines weren't that rare & its an early 90's machine not 70's as he had thought. I actually showed him pictures of the ones I had vintage & modern. I told him around 60-75 bucks for the pachinko and the same for the pachislo. he is just down on his luck & thought he had something worth more $$. I was there talking to him for about an hour and I think I may have found him a job after I left his house. FYI he didn't even know the front door opened for the playfield.

Oh, it really is a shame to think you have something of great value and then find out otherwise. My Mom pulled an old violin out of her attic a few years ago and we found a 'Stradivarius' stamp on the inside... boy were we excited for a bit... until a search revealed that thousands of these fakes were produced in the 30' and 40's. It was fun while it lasted ... but now that you have gently educated this gentleman, he needs to deal with reality.

I had 3 "real Stradivarius" violins come into the pawn shop over the years. I said to the one person "see how it is a printed sticker that says "Stradivarius, made in italy 1680" and it is a machine carved top with modern pegs? If it was real and had a name in it it would be "Antonio Stradivari" and would not have any words in English" She ended up calling 911 and saying I was trying to steal it from her and that if the cops did not force me to give her a million dollars she wanted me put in jail. When the cops got there I had them remove her from the store and trespassed her from the property. I miss that place sometimes and I don't know what this story has to do with anything other than I was reminded of it by Dawn's post.
