    Default Spinner Paint Question

I've cleaned up my fair share of vintage machines but only used paint markers to touch up some of the plastic items. The spinners on the machine I'm currently working on need a new paint job, especially since I used a dremel and removed it all .

My question is which would be better enamel or acrylic paint?

I always use enamel paint on spinners. It's much more durable (IMO) that acrylic.

I'm finding the best stuff to use is One- Shot enamel sign painting paint. It's the favorite of pin strippers and is real easy to work with & flows great so brush strokes go away. And they have tons of colors. But make sure to get some reducer to slow down the dry time to make it work a bit better. You can get it at auto paint stores, serious art supply stores (Not Michaels or Hobby Lobby) or from Eastwood or Mooneyes.com. Also get some quality brushes, it makes it easier to work with. I've just redid some of the flower inserts with it & it's very forgiving when you smudge everything with your arm & have to start over...

Now if someone finds out how to redo those plastic items with the chrome on them, that's the next mystery..

Thanks all for you suggestions. Chrome on the plastic parts I usually use a metal paint marker on them.

I've been using Bare Metal foil for the plastic chrome. It's not mirror finish, but it is probably the closest you can get.
