Who's the new Heavyguitarman or Shocksystem?

HeavyG and Shock really brought a fascinating sense of creativity to this board with their radical modifications and restorations of some vintage machines which had seen better days. Unfortunately, both just disappeared from the scene...from what I can tell, HeavyG hasn't logged in since March, and Shock went awol about mid-May. If I have it right, Shock last posted on/about 5/4, and he last logged in on/about 5/15. I truly hope all is well with both, although Shock's disapperance is the most perplexing of the two as he was mid-stream of his 13 page restoration...everyone was hanging on his every post...breathlessly waiting for his next post...OMG! What's he going to do next?

Anyway, all I can figure is that some sort of event occured in his life that was much more important that his pachi restoration. Seems difficult to believe, but it must be true.

I am doing good to get the mechanical workings of the vintage machines disassembled, cleaned, and back on the machine. I have still yet to tackle the electrical stuff...I'm going to get a friend to work with me on that ...I'm sure that once I do the first one, it will be no big deal.

Anyway, I am hoping that a newbie shows up here all full of energy and ready to rip apart a vintage and trick it out like our before-mentioned heros...it really made this board a lot of fun...

throughout the history of PT, we have had users that bring new and exciting things to the community, and one day they just disappear.

i have a feeling that they may get back around in the winter. summer months are just crazy sometimes. being a dj i spend most my winter burried in the house. so in summer i do gigs all over the place, many times a week. they'll be back..

once pachi gets in the blood its like crack. they always come back.. they need to come back.. sorry boot that.

FYI: I disappeared off the radar for a little while, but i just wanted to let my friends (Especially Mudfud and HopeChest), know that I am alive and well.

I have two really special Pachinkos that i am working on, and a bally slot machine. Just been so busy, that I dont want to get things started when i dont know when i will be able to finish them!

hey johnny! glad that you're back. missing your posts and mods. was just going to send you a message to see that you were OK. which machines are you working on now?

I'm planning a long shelf, the whole length of the garage here in salinas, to put up my vintages from paso robles. most just need a little dusting, then tuning up the electrical... time to get some more 9 volts at ikea. will post pix soon.

also, still doing the large hopper for moderns design. I would like to do something like bigbearsteve's, with the ball lifter. thing is that my machines sit at right angles with a couple feet between them (in a corner). trying to design something with moveable tubes that can be adjusted a bit for different setups. guess I need to just spend a whole day at it, with multiple trips to the hardware store - like a good plumbing project.

I agree with bigdog, though, that HG man and shock are really missed here.

I believe Heavyguitarman was away for a while before because of heath problems..so it might have something to do with that again??

As for Shocksystem, I think it was UFOs!!

yeah,i hope they come back.they sure had some awesome projects going on.hopefully,they are just too busy now that summer is here,and they will return later on.maybe in the meantime,someone else will step up to the plate and do another cool project.mudfud maybe?as soon as i get my ball lifter,i am planning an awesome pachinko cabinet,and i will be posting about it as it happens.
