Pachinko and Pinball
Thought that this might be interesting since I just got my Julie.
Here is my very brief and undetailed history of Pinball and Pachinko so that you may get a little more out of the pics.
The game of Bagatell ( The Corinth Game) a horizontal pinball game without any electrics or flippers was brought to Japan from America where the game was a huge hit for many years.
It became so popular in Japan that they ran out of room for the machines in the places in which they were installed. (We all know what that is like)
The Japanese came up with a clever idea and mounted them vertically to allow for more space and machines. These became Pachinko machines.
In the States the Bagatell game evolved with the use of electrics and eventually flippers eventually becoming pinball machines.
Over the years the 2 types of machines Pinball and Pachinko have crossed paths and below are 2 machines that have done so.
One machine is the Pinball machine Apollo which incorporates a Pachinko machinein its backglass where the Pinball becomes a Pachinko ball as a bonus.
The other machine Julie is a Pachinko machine with a Pinball theme and has a mini pinball Playfield where the Pachinko balls become Pinballs during the bonus rounds.
OK so this was a lame history lesson but I hope you liked it anyway.
