Default CR Mechaike Naasu S Questions

I picked up one of these CR Mechaike Naasu S (A.K.A. Hot Nurse Story) Nishijin pachinko machines. Looking at the back of the machine, I see two pots on the lower left. What do these control?

Also it looks like I have a jam I need to figure out how to clear, the balls from the start pocket and sub-pockets are collecting in the back of the machine. Payouts are not being triggered. I hope I don't need to take the whole thing apart. Any good tips?

Other than a bit of dust and dirt, this machine appears to be in great condition.

The two pots are adjustments for the shooter. One adjusts the sensitivity of the touch ring, I think the other shooting distance (will shoot farther or shorter with the shooter knob in the same position).
I'll get back to you on the rest!

Thanks for the info on the two pot controls, you are correct!

After checking cable connections and verifying there are no balls jammed anywhere, the machine is still not paying out. The metal box with a single digit red led display shows "8" and then "H" when reset. There is a description of codes in Japanese, I can take a picture of it.

    Thanks in advance.

If you post a clear picture, then I'm sure that someone will reply with a translation of the codes.

Got some pictures here of the payout box, payout module label, and the error code legend. Please post a translation of the relevant information.

Once again, on reset I am getting a code "8" for three seconds & then code "H"

    Thanks,

    The error codes are...

    0 - Normal Operation
8 - 'Hitting Stopped' (might indicate a dongle problem?)
A - Circuit Board connection problem
F - Lower reward tray full
    H - Payout hopper empty

If the shooter handle works correctly, then the '8' code is probably nothing to worry about. I suspect it means that the machine can't detect a card reader unit present (all 'CR' machines need to be connected to a card reader unit for the shooter handle to operate). If this machine doesn't have a small 'dongle' connector plugged into a 25 pin D type connector (similar to the old style PC printer connectors) on the back of the machine, then it's likely that the modification to the machine to re-enable the shooter handle doesn't clear the error code properly.

The 'H' code indicates that the machine doesn't think it has any balls in the payout hopper. If the hopper is full, then you need to check the ball path to the payout motor and check that any switches or sensors (and their connections) are OK.

Can't seem to clear the "H" error code. I guess I will have to take out the payout ball assembly and check it more carefully. The machine is currently full of balls, is there a suggested method to get the machine to dump them out?
