Oops looks like I read your symtoms backwards. Daverob is right (of course) I mistakenly thought it took an hour to come on - sorry.

I have found that this site has some great info on fixing pinball. Here is a lonk to a page that has some info about DMD display issues.

    http://www.pinrepair.com/de/index3.htm

I have a few pins (Firepower, Starship Troopers, Mystery Castle, Grand Prix, Checkpoint, Baywatch) and have found most of my display problems end up being power supply voltage issues. It almost sound like an over voltage issue, the voltages needed to run that display can be up to 100 v DC. So be careful while testing things on the power supply. I hurts when you get hit!!!

Follow up: Well the DMD was bad and needed to be replaced. It was overheating and could not be saved. Also the spring coil on the launcher bit the dust. Fortune smiled on me however as I purchased this from a reputable seller in Houston. He fixed everything with a 24hr turnaround and even gave it another shine and replaced 2 bulbs that I didnt even know were gone (until I finally saw them lit). I had a 30 warranty on the machine and the new parts have an additional new 30 day warranty from today.
If anyone is looking in this area try Andres at Arcade Games of Houston. Very honest and great customer support.
