Default Cutie Honey needs a cleaning!

Is there any easy way to get the front piece of plastic off so I can clean the back of it and the actual screen? I've got streaks, spots, and general crud behind the nails and on the lcd, and I have a feeling the whole front needs to come apart to get to it... Any suggestions?

Yeah, after reading abut the legendary cleaning Arby gives machines, I was wondering if he's considered offering a cleaning service. I'm too nervous to dismantle a machine, but my newest ("New Road Construction" -- http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18801 ) came yesterday and it was the dirtiest machine I've ever seen, so did the best I could.

That looks like a pretty fun machine! Good luck with the clean up. Some are easier than others, so hopefully you'll luck out and it'll be a piece of cake.
It's been suggested before, but make sure to take a few pictures before and during if you plan on taking things apart, so you have a few reference points for how things go back together.

The acryllic panel comes out the front like a regular front changing cell, the LCD and the electronics are left behind in the frame.

My memory is a little hazy about this one, and I don't have the machine to hand to check, but from what I remember the procedure is something like this...

There are two sets of cables to disconnect from the back of the machine, one near the lock mechanism on the side, and one in a hole at the back of the machine.

Then the front glass door can be opened, and there are two clips at the top of the acryllic playfield, I seem to remember these sliding sideways and then the playfield can be lifted up about a quarter of an inch and then pulled out from the front, but there might be some 90 degree twist retainers near the bottom, or some other clips.

It's a bit of a tight fit, so it might be worth the effort of removing the front glass door before attempting to remove the acryllic panel of pins, just to give yourself some more room to work in.

Thank you, sir! I'll take a look, and see what sort of mess I can make.

If it was the real Cutie Honey, I'd be happy to clean her for you. But you're just talking about a piece of plastic, so nevermind...follow Daverob's advice.

Dave's info is very good, but remember don't pull the play field more than a very short way to be able to get your hand in to disconnect the two white connectors.

Thanks Arby, I'll give it a shot.

And now, for Fronzdan, I'll put on my nerd hat...

Cutie Honey is an android, so technically she's plastic all over. (bouncy plastic) She was created by a scientist to replace the daughter he lost in an accident. He implanted in her the "fixed system of air elements device" allowng her to transform into various forms depending on the situation. She was originally created in 1973, and has had many different incarnations over the years.

Wow, now I need to go outside and pretend to be slightly cool...

Those two are reachable from the back if you open the clear back door up. It is screwed closed and two clip buttons.

Use a needle nose plyers with long jaws to reach them.
