Default Going to Japan - Battle Counter

I'll be going to Japan in April for vacation and I'll have about 5 days on my own around Tokyo before hooking up with a tour group for a week around Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka and leaving just before Golden Week. My itinerary is pretty full but I plan on getting the real pachinko experience. I'll report back on what machines I see that look interesting when I return.

I'd love to acquire a battle counter (or 2) while I'm there. A friend of mine who is helping me learn some conversational Japanese said she'd write a note with an attached picture of a battlecounter to explain what I'm trying to acquire. What are the odds I could get one from a pachinko parlor? The more I think about it, the more this sounds like a surefire way to meet people with missing fingers with lots of tattoos. Am I better off just going through Key-eye and Yahoo Japan Auctions?

Also, if anybody knows the "trick" to convert the prizes to Yen, I could use that info too. Recommendations on any specific parlors to check out are also appreciated.

Within about 30 minutes of my post, I got an e-mail about a potential connection in Osaka. Things are looking good so far.

This is something I was going to ask at some point. We plan on visiting next year sometime. I was hoping to pick up a cell or two along with other stuff that's hard to get here.

I can understand why this was done in private, but was it a Pachitalk member that sent you a contact? I'm hoping to get the same info some day.

I seriously almost bought that shirt a while back. I got this one instead:

The girl helping me with the Japanese saw it and told my girlfriend what it says. Needless to say she wasn't real happy . Now she keeps asking me if I'm going to take that shirt to Japan (she's not going on this trip). I think I'm still going to take it just to see what people say about it.

Regarding the info on the battle counters - I'm just going to say that the Pachi Gods are watching over us and good things come to those who ask

Now you make us curious, what does it say........

if you can, when in a parlor, make as many pictures as you can with that t-shirt on, hahaha.
I am very curious what faces people make when you want to go on a picture with them with that t-shirt on.
( i still do not know what it says)

I have never been to japan yet, but i will go there too one day..............just dont know when.
Saving money for the flight already, i just should stop buying these machines to even be able to save money anyway.....

It says something to the effect of "Now accepting applications for a Japanese girlfriend".
