    Default Pachislo Stand Schematics

User ken524 has graciously given us his plans for a Pachislo cabinet.

I hope you find it useful. The document is in PDF file format.

    Thanks for the contribution Ken!

I like the room for the beer can in the top down view.
However, the front view clearly shows a can of Coke.

    David,

Thanks for posting my plans. I should have added a disclaimer to the PDF: Always check other people's measurements and design before cutting your own wood! I use a CAD program, so all the measurements should be right on. But I often tweak things as I cut and build so your final mileage may vary! Use the plans for reference ~only~!

Coming soon... I'm designing a pachinko wall cabinet that is a hybrid of Kick-the-fog's and Gameroom Cabinet's. Once designed, built and tweaked, I'll have those plans available for posting as well. Now that I know there is an interest, I'll pay more attention to detail when I draw the plans.

    -Ken

Could you update it with measure in centimeters if possible ?

    Thanks !

    djaypee,

It would be quite a bit of effort for me to reconfigure my cheap-o CAD program to give dimensions in metric, then redo all the dimensions. I also am not familiar with European lumber measurements (do they have 3/4" MDF or is it some other dimension?).

Feel free to use the plans as a guide and make the conversions as necessary. There are plenty of US/Metric conversion applets for PC's, Macs, and PDA's out there.

Perhaps one of these days Americans will get off their duff's and join the rest of the world with the metric system!

Sorry I can't be more helpful!

    Cordially,
    Ken

I find that when framing is used to strengthen panels 12mm MDF is appropriate in most instances, does that help witn the conversion ?
PS I hate cm`s and mm`s The EU has ruined all my tape measures ! bring back feet and inches to the UK and stick the Euro up the Channel Tunnel. Dont let the US be converted its the start of the dark side taking over BE WARNED.

The Metric system by itself is very simple, easy to understand and work with. What has made it difficult however is all the "Soft" (direct Imperial to Metric) metric conversions of products to protect the existing industries. If it had been possible to "rip off the bandaid" and convert "over night" all the conversion pain would have been over by now.

The longer we maintain multple systems of measurement, the greater the pain will be if and when any harmonization takes place which at this point seems very unlikely to happen.

Once the China juggernaut takes over leadership of the industrialized world, all this discussion will be moot. Their system of choice will become the defacto standard.

The best doesn't always win. Remember Betamax? Has anyone outside of Canada seen a "Robertson" screwdriver?

Metric is the only way to go!. Its much easier to use as it is based on 10 not the odd 12 that is the American Standard.
I believe the Metric Standard was derived from subdividing the Diameter of the Earth into 10 equal parts and then subdividing etc.
Then there is the Old British system Whitworth!!!!!! Which has faded as should the American Standard.
Aircraft are made using the Metric system including the American made ones. The American Aircraft industry is on the ball as they know that the the metric system is less prone to mistakes and that the rest of the world uses it. It just makes more sense. If you were a mechanic you would have a better understanding of its simplicity.

China has already been using the Metric system and I think they will stick with it as the logical one.

I've only got 10 fingers and/or 10 toes. Where did the number 12 come from?

We had a Boeing 767, passenger jet turn into a glider (with no main instruments) near here when it ran out of fuel at crusing altitute a few years back. An apparent metric/imperial mix up during refueling. Aka the "Gimli Glider". It was quite an event and makes for a good read.

If anyone has a want, I will put the design on paper and post it. I have a transport case/slot stand designed on a 2 degree tilt on the bottom to accomodate wheels for both transport and moving the unit. I use the same ones with a few mods for my own machines they use relays to trigger various lights and leds on the base.
One design extension even incorporates a lighted shadowbox as a topper (I use it to give instructions for use) but is also rigged to upper ridge lights so I can see what machine is hitting from a distance.
Anyone else that is interested in renting units I have started a Commercial uses group Join Me I will post all of my designs for the group.

Oh and as an aside, risking my first Groan... A possible Nod to Compirate . It is a proven FACT that the size of the space shuttle is currently limited by the width of a ROMAN ASS... Check it out...
