Nishijin C wiring issues
After introducing myself in the "Introductions" section... I wanted to ask my first technical question.
While working on a Model A restoration, I began to trouble shoot the wiring issues afflicting my Model C. The previous owner did a real job on the wiring and I'm trying to sort out how this thing should be wired. What I've discovered and tested thus far is:
- The lights seem to be powered by a 10v circuit (I've tested these using a 9v battery and they seem to work appropriately)
- The machine has a 24v solenoid that is triggered by the jackpot and actuates the tulips (opening them all at once)
Questions:
- I'm not sure how this machine was originally powered, such that it provided both 9v and 24v power to the lights/solenoid. Could someone enlighten me?
- I've tested the solenoid using a 20v dc power supply... directly to the solenoid leads (2 red wires) and it seems to work. I don't understand the electrical components to the right of the solenoid, however. When I used the power supply on those leads (1 Orange, 1 Red), nothing happens.
That's about as far as I've gotten. I'm trying to strip out the wires that seem added/rerouted by the previous owner, but I'm really just spitballing it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
