Question cyclic machines in computer driven cabs ie. Computer Pachinkos!

I know Aaron will raise an eyebrow at this one.

I have my eyes on some 'computer pachinkos' at present here: they are cyclic and in cabs that are coin-controlled and computer driven.

My question is simple: in your experience, can these cells be removed from their cabinet life support system and be returned to normal, non-arcade home operation?

I'm certain that the ball release, for example, is currently controlled by the coin/computer mechanism. What happens when I unplug the cell from all that - she should stop working completely, right? How do I kickstart her back to life : a simple plug being re-attached on the cell main board? (I hope)

    thanks all
