    Default My first pachinko machine!

    Hello all,

I was an exchange student in Japan in highschool and became fascinated with pachinko machines while I was there. Since then I have always wanted one.
Well, I walked into the local Goodwill the other day and there she sat.

I could see that it needed new plexi glass and the ball tray was broken off. I figure that these are relatively easy fixes. However, after getting it home I realized that the jackpot rocker arm is broken off. I have looked online and see that new rocker arms are $50. Whew! But at lease now I know to look for that when I buy my next machine!!

Welcome to Pachitalk!Always good to get new members! Congratulations on your new machine! Too bad about the jackpot assembly and upper ball tray. Unfortunately it has pretty bad water stains on the cell, but at least this don't affect playability. I have a jackpot assembly from a Nishijin that I had to part out. It is not exactly the same... but the trap door on it looks like it might just work.Jackpot 001.jpgJackpot 002.jpg The mounting holes on the body look like they probably won't line up with your machine, but the trap door is held in with a pivot pin that has a clip holding it in place. If it fits, could be a very easy fix! I already used the upper ball tray on a machine that I have that had a broken tray...so I can't help you out there. Maybe someone else has an extra, or you can fix yours with epoxy and plexiglass. I've seen members use a metal breadpan to fix them before. If you are interested PM me.

    to Pachitalk!

That is an okay machine. Like Pachiwall said the background is really badly water stained. It won't affect play it just looks bad. Sorry to hear about that missing arm. I don't think a Nishijin one would work though. As there are ever so slight variations in them. It also looks like you may be missing a few covers (unless you took them off) those don't affect play they just make it easier for people to mess with the parts and let dust get in. That rear tray is also kinda toast. but if you want it working there are easy replacements for it. (won't look right but it can make it work)

If you have any questions just ask. And once again Welcome to PT.

The bread pan fix for the ball tray is an excellent idea!

And yes, I did remove some of the covers to clean out the mechanisms.

I agree that the water stains are pretty bad, but if you stand back it almost looks like it has a cloud theme...

    Welcome to Pachitalk

Swaping out the whole jackpot mech might work?? you wuold have to get the arm in the right place but who knows.. might be worth a shot.. better then parting it out.. need a cell replacemnt but the chrome looks to be in good shape..

Welcome to the PachiTalk family!! As was mentioned, this will be your first of many machines, as these things tend to multiply quickly!! So don't fight the urge to collect them; embrace it and enjoy the ride. It is a really fun and addicting hobby, and you have a large global community right here to encourage you along the way.

The members here are VERY helpful and quick to assist with questions or problems, so don't be shy about posting "dumb" questions. There is no shame here. We were all beginners at one point and we do what we can to help others rescue these wonderful machines.

Again, welcome to the forum. Please visit us daily and post often.

I don't think swapping the whole jackpot mechanism will fit, but the door on the bottom might! I will take it off after work, take some measurements, and post some more pics after work tonight. It simply pins in place, so installation is easy...and nothing else gets broken!

Took some measurements so you can see if it might work. First of all the assembly is broken...Jackpot 004.jpgJackpot 002.jpgthis can be epoxied with a very strong epoxy...but probably unnecessary because it probably wont fit anyhow! If you were to try, and modifications were necessary...modify this part and NOT the machine itself. If you modify the machine, AND it still won't fit right...then the correct part might not fit! I think the trap door is a better option, it is held on with an Eclip and removes easily.Jackpot 005.jpg Jackpot 006.jpg Here are the dimentions you have to work with.Jackpot 007.jpg The opening is .473", and the width of the part that goes into it is .448".Jackpot 008.jpg This leaves about .025" of play between the moving parts, seems a little sloppy, but it has to swing open freely from the weight of 15 balls, and close quickly. Jackpot 013.jpg The pivot pin is 1.006" long, and .156" diameter.Jackpot 014.jpg The distance between the pivot hole and top of the latch is 1.375"Jackpot 015.jpg This should give you a pretty good idea if it will work or not. Let me know what you think.

VERY IMPORTANT! DO NOT OIL! VERY CLEAN DRY PARTS WORK BEST! Petroleum products will destroy the plastic parts causing them to crumble!

PM me of you want this jackpot mech. The mounting holes are a little different, but it should work. You can always just swap the rocker piece on it.

most of the jackpots that feed straight down will work (I have seen them with to sizes for the feed into the top but as long as it is the right of the two sizes I have made them work perfectly from brand to brand without modding them) but the holes may not line up. A upper rear ball tray from a Nishijin "B" will fit, not perfect but will feed just fine (I had to use one on mine with the same cell picture
